IMO it doesn't come out of nowhere. To add context Caesar and that kid Tiberius were going head to head for most of the season before it happened. After some Ls and Caesar being favored by his father Crassus. Tiberius loses his mind after his father forces him to participate in a decimation that has him beat his best friend to death. Dude just goes to rape mode for control after that. He raped his father's lover for revenge and then rapes Caesar so that he backs off when their both advising Crassus.

This fictional version of Julius Caesar was wack though. He preferred "fancy sword and expected position."
