sounds like congress handicapping it then. let them off their chains and let's see what kinda health care package they can negotiate with a few hundred million customers (on the part A) and the 20% satisfied with advantage plans that have to meet certain standards and requirements or lose access to a few hundred million customers.
only 14% of medicare beneficiaries rely on medicare only.

a few retired military people live in my neighborhood, including the female spouses of those who did serve and that tri-care shyt got them smiling all the time and paying jack shyt and rubbing it in my face. if my healthcare costs were $0 (and that includes payroll deductions) i'd let the govt get away with a whole lot short of killing me.
I've taken my father to have procedures at the VA.

He's only used them in situations that weren't emergencies and has always complained about them.

The most popular and satisfied Medicare beneficiaries are those who use medicare advantage.

Those programs are purchased through private companies.

You all don't know what you're talking about. But it's a great time to learn.

if complaints is the barometer, then my so called platinum private plan ain't shyt either because i complain about everything health related.
The barometer is if you're going to tax people who are satisfied more what do they gain?

If the answer is nothing this just becomes a tax hike that won't pass.

If expanding medicare for all in its current implementation is what you want then you're really just getting closer to the original permutation of the ACA.

Medicare has the same satisfaction rate or less than military/veterans.

We all accept VA coverage is wholly insufficient.

We all?

Cmon man don't do the " I think we all can agree/everyone knows/no serious person disagrees" schtick.

Gallup surveys of people's attitudes towards health care coverage routinely shows satisfaction rates for VA/Medicare and even Medicaid as higher than private insurance. It's one thing to discuss dissatisfaction with current government options, but if that's the metric by which you determine success then the private market is a total failure.

The private market is a failure for the majority of people who have healthcare.

That's why we're having this conversation.

Most people with medicare have some type of supplemental insurance in order to afford healthcare. That makes it no better than what we have now with deductibles, premiums and limited options.

The VA is a total disaster.

I'm going to assume most people here do t have employee provided PPO healthcare at no cost and employee deposited HSA funds to cover the cost of deductibles up to coinsurance or co-pays and other needs.
