He tried to do something and the Dems shut it down when he was generating energy from the electorate. Even after that, he always was a good soldier and endorsed the Democratic nominees and overall agenda.
016 was fukked up, but he did himself no favors in not cultivating a strong black democratic following in southern states.
Had he built up political cache with southern black americans, 016 would have never had happened.
His bigger problem is that he has no legislation he can point to and say he bettered peoples lives.
