DC done bro lol

shyt ain’t been the same since 2012. I just hope Black folks continue to remain deeply rooted in Soufeast and Northeast. Damn near all of Uptown and much of Northwest in general east of Rock Creek Park is Cac-infested save for a handful of neighborhoods. Southwest still got Black folks living in low-income garden apartments and a few old rowhouse blocks (one of them where Marvin Gaye grew up in) and some of the housing projects such as Syphanx Gardens is still there but you get closer to the waterfront, shyt looks like a small-scaled Baltimore Inner Harbor :dwillhuh: Not saying all of the infrastructural changes are bad but it does make the city look way different. I damn near almost didn’t even recognize The Wharf area. They’re even building this suspension bridge near Navy Yard too, DC finna get its own Brooklyn Bridge/High Line hybrid soon :dead:

Legit everyone I know that works in DC lives in some random burb. I've been to DC a ton but I don't have the best context of direction, but only spot I saw a high volume of Non Howard Black people was when I went to some spot to get Crab Fries but funny enough a older white dude and his kids came in as I was leaving :mjlol:

So much for Chocolate City :francis:

If you ask me with Howard being there DC should have no excuse to be getting wiped out like it is especially the way Howard grads love to brag. Same with ATL and the AUC, yet its surrounded by burnt out bandos

I am very close the one they put on H Street corridor....always mostly empty...not a popular locations for Ben's.
The original is cool and I often went to Ben's Next Door next to the original...hopefully they pull through.

Don’t they also have locations in Anacostia (unless I’m thinking about Busboys) and Reagan National? How those spots been doing as far as patronage and revenue?

Ooh and Ahhs had the worst damn service...I had to stop going there. I mean...damn it was bad...food was cool but I would never go there again.

Yeah...both actually...and Yeah...that is Busboys too....they expanded like Crazy....I know the owner...and Iraqi dude name Andy.... Anacostia is the newest one...I was a regular at a few of them on Poetry open mic nights years ago....I used to joke that whenever a Busboys would open..look out for gentrification... Takoma...boom....Hyatsville "art district"..boom.....and now Anacostia lol

folks aint even building up the burbs though. All the burbs folks left the inner city for are now as bad or worst than the former hoods.

True that but why is it whenever I go to GA or MD I see all these new trees being chopped down for homes. I assume the good money folks in the urban city probably go back to burbs when kids enter the equation

NYC and FBA Riverboat Retaliation
why don’t you donate to them
Post up the fund page - I’ll do what I can. I’m not a celebrity with stacks on stacks; I’m a mother of 2, with student loans and debt bc of a series of bad decisions and spoiled girl tendencies. My brother is living with me currently bc hbcu’s are closed for the semester -that’s another expense. I also live above my means. My parents have money - I’m just a “trust fund baby”. They have their own charities and churches, individuals that they help. Other than that, I’m check to check with basic living expenses; just like everybody else that’s if the legal market doesn’t wipe out bc of Covid 19, which is subject to day to day in terms of job security and at the discretion of corporate heads. Does that answer your question?

Facts. Thankfully PG County (where I’m from) is still majority Black, it’s a decent amount of Black folks in Mo County, and I think Charles County is about to become predominantly Black for the very first time come the 2020 census, so DC will now have two majority Black counties in Maryland nearby. It’s some gentrification going on in a few hood areas of PG but that’s mainly coming from professional Black folks who ain’t from here but I’ve also noticed a growing number of Latinx in parts of PG as well. Most Cacs have thankfully continued to shy away from living in most of PG outside of certain areas such as Bowie, Brandywine, Downtown/Arts District area of Hyattsville, and the north side of the County.

And breh, Cacs ain’t even scared of riding the Green Line and Blue Line anymore...I’ve been seeing some of them get off at stops they wouldn’t dare get off at literally just 10 years ago if they had no business there :mindblown:

And yeah Ion know what the fukk type of time these HU alumni be on nowadays. I’m willing to bet NCAT, Morgan, or even Hampton alumni with DC/DMV chapters give more contributions to their city than their HU alumni counterparts :francis:
