I don't think it was Alc at all. Spitta just picks what he likes which is that left of center shyt. Not gonna go out of my way to shyt on this but Continuance got the better Alc beats.
Yeah, this is right. @spliz Alc gives people what they want. Dude makes a handful of beats every single day. If you're around him working on a project, you're gonna get basically anything you want unless it's something he's specifically holding for someone else (which is a lot less than most people would think).

Especially Spitta. Alc has credited him for reinvigorating the 2nd half of his career, and Al will give Spitta anything he asks for. The types of beats on Continuance are the exact beats that Spitta likes to pick from Al, and are more like the ones he picked on Carrollton Heist. After Yacht Rock 2, Spitta even said he'd wished he'd chosen a lot of those, and joints like Endurance Runners and Half Moon Mornings have that exact feel.

Currensy just likes to pick some left field shyt. Cover Coup was kind of an interesting situation because on that one Currensy asked Al to give him really hard gritty space rock type shyt. But ever since then he's picked more mellow beats from Al. That and/or he just makes beats with the artist in the studio until he makes something they fukk with.

I think both albums have great Alchemist beats. It’s all preference. I personally feel he had harder hitting beats on TT4
Just goes to show his versatility too. I'm like you and I prefer some of his harder joints like what he did on TT4. But @Piff Perkins isn't the only person I've heard say that they prefer the beats on Continuance. I was kind of surprised at that take at first, but I get it. Al has enough bags and sub-styles to where different people are gonna fukk with different sounds of his.

The main beat on here that reminds me of Spitta is Mr. Chow Hall. That one does remind me of some old Covert Coup shyt. And Weekend in Perry's reminds me of something Currensy might pick now.

The rest of the Al beats on TT4 seem a little harder to me than most of what Currensy might pick in 2022.

mr chow halls sounds like a bit of a slight lol. They say west is the brains, Benny is the star and conways just the silliest with the bars”lol but he also gave em respect as well right after with conway made him a boss. There family so:manny:and first cuzins so prolly not and this rap shyt is all about competition too and thinking they the best, so it prolly isn’t that.:jbhmm:also Tyson vs Ali is all about how nothings like that.

there was def a diss to rj Payne. Rj Payne is so ill that if he had a1 production consistently it would def be a problem. It’s still a problem if it’s diss track Payne’s a monster

On Chow Hall, Benny was repeating Conway's bars from La Maquina. If you click play this song should auto-start at right time at 2:30

That 10 more commandments beat is perfect. IDK how Griselda manage to pay homage to the 90s and still make their music feel current and sometimes even futuristic like that track is.

The whole Griselda crew is still in their prime, its dope to watch.

what I really like about the record is Benny clearly didn’t just rehashed and mimic the OG. Him starting from 20 was a good touch. But yea the whole style of the track is a Griselda version of the BIG record. It was executed nicely imo.

K gotcha I hated la machina besides bruiser Brody so I don’t remember the bars. Good looks. I’m surprised of those shots at shady too, it was factual tho.

This album has been in constant rotation since it dropped. 8.5/10 out of 10 for me but I have a feeling it’ll be one of those albums that will sound even better over time.

It’s a top 3 rap album of the year for me (along with Ghetto Gods & HDIGH).

However, I’m probably in the minority but Plugs I Met 2 is his best album for me :hubie: the production, overall theme & length were all perfect to me. Felt like Vol 1 Jay in the modern era and Survivor’s Remorse is probably his best song ever.

I’m with you on Plugs I Met 2. That is a personal classic to me. Everything you described is accurate & I felt the chemistry with Harry Fraud was phenomenal.

Something bout Mr Chow Hall beat is fukking disturbing. I was driving to work at 3am not a car in sight, felt I just done commitin a murder with that shyt playing. :picard:

It would’ve been ill if they used that same beat as an intro/outro like they use to do back in the day. I’m annoyed by a lack of a traditional intro on this
