So Cal
Them guys made music with other legends before even linking with Em. People don’t even know about them cause they chose not to listen. Conway has a EP with Prodigy, and had songs produced by Alchemist before even being noticed by other fan bases.
You just named two more regional people, breh. Legends or not.

The Taylor Swift vs TOOL thing is a perfect example and analogy to Grisleda.
All these Taylor fans are like "who is this new band TOOL?..." when TOOL been around since the 90s.
Will they go triple plat like Taylor? No
Are they gonna so a stadium tour? No
Do they have enough dedicated fans to take Taylor off the #1 spot if only for a moment? YES
Taylor's fans think she is the biggest thing in the world so how could a "new" band come out of nowhere
and take her spot - its all perspective and being informed.

And @Insensitive you know about Griselda cuz you are an active hip-hop fan, not a casual one.
And @BK The Great there are murals of n-ggas I don't know all over the world - murals don't equal popularity - they equal respect.

You think people knew who Tony was just cuz Big Pun had his mural in the video?
Or somehow his mural being in the video made people suddenly GAF on who he was?
Once again not a diss - but we gotta stop this false equivalence theory.

Everyone might not know about them but all it takes is a feature from someone who people listen to for example Meek to get them the exposure they need. They are underground artists so they ain’t looking for that market really. Maybe that Roc Nation deal would get them more light since people saying they don’t know about their music as much.

You need to understand that people outside of NY really don't know or care about these dudes
These nikkas aren’t from the city they’re from Buffalo.

They are a very niche, cult based label their popularity is not regional. They have fans everywhere that’s how WSG had a mural in Phoenix before ever doing a show there. They have created a brand that transcends the underground and appeals to boom bap/old school, wrestling fans, skaters, Internet heads, older street nikkas, etc. I can’t lie what these guys have done as far as marketing/branding, the art, the fashion/merch, the gimmicks they created is genius.

They’re the first rappers to successfully make it out of upstate NY. And I feel that’s why they have a chip on their shoulder.

The funny thing Is when they blow...
(Because u can tell when nikkaz are on the verge of really blowing up, and they are right on that line)

People are gonna be acting like they was up on the wave for 4ever...

Like others have said tho...
This could've been flipped so easily into a big win for griselda, if played right...
It still can...
Someone needs to holla at them, so they can make better moves..

Just the fact that they are talented as fukk, signed with a super well known rap legend, and if u get Conway on a big show with shannon and skip... because his face is distorted, itll definitely make people curious about who they are...

the internet
That can’t be true, how they got murals and stuff outside the states? They got their albums, merch and clothing selling out all the time. The demand for their music is there.
like he said...they have a dedicated niche fanbase.

Its how most rappers make their money now.
You just cant confuse them with being as popular as mainstream people.

Yea they’re not really trying to be mainstream, they have their own lane which is making them gain fans. We’ll see if they would be more popular by next year, if not then they will just stay where they currently are which isn’t bad either. I would put them in the Freddie Gibbs/Pusha T lane.

Dissing rappers for no reason doesn't make me laugh.
Kinda just seems like disrespect for the sake of disrespect.
Let these cats take it off twitter and everyone in this thread laughing will
be crying fowl.

You do realize he was talking about Cole Beasley the white WR formerly of the Dallas Cowboys? He dropped a few rap songs last year before he got traded to Buffalo Bills.

He wasn't dissing anybody intentionally. He was slightly jabbing at this football player trying to be a rapper in Buffalo.

That'd be like me saying, "name one great rapper from small town Minnesota", and then one dude stood up and got offended.
