Lol I don't know if Mach-Hommy re-signed to Griselda or not when he did PFH with West curating it, but no one hates anyone on The Coli more than @head shots101 hates Mach. It makes me laugh so much every time.
:mjlol:
@head shots101 will probably live to be 120 with that much :scust: for Mach

shyt be hilarious :russ:

Every time some new Mach drop I tag my bredrin @head shots101 :lolbron:

Son, I noticed this after going back and forth for pages with @Heavy_Handz tryna say Benny the reason Griselda got popular :dead:

It goes back to what I said, all 3 got strengths and weaknesses that balances them in a sense. But Heavy always try to throw darts at Conway outta love for Benny :heh:

I love going at it with you dudes about this Griselda shyt because we are all real Hip-Hop fans who been with this shyt since it started years back so in a weird way it’s like arguing with your brothers. You got love for them but they make you mad as hell sometimes at the same time :russ: I always felt Benny put Griselda on the map forreal with Tana Talk 3 and when he followed that up with The Plugs I Met that’s when shyt hit the fan with his crazy features from Black Thought & Jadakiss. None of that was to slight Conway. His early mixtapes like Reject 2 were fukking incredible and what put me onto all this shyt in the first place. I just don’t think he has elevated anywhere near Benny over the past 3+ years. Maybe it’s his alcoholism or personal issues but he has remained stagnant in his style & content while Benny has really elevated his skill set and range without compromising Griselda style & sound even if you want to say he wanted a more commercial sound with Hit-Boy/Harry Fraud (Which I don’t agree with). Nobody saying Nas made a mainstream sounding album by working with Hit-Boy :hhh:

I look at J Cole feature on Johnny P’s Caddy and am in awe that he could elevate his skills to a point that he was jamming so much heat into them bars on his verse that he forced Cole to give us one of the best verses of his career. That only happens when it’s friendly competition & that’s why I rank Benny at such a higher tier now. He pulled the best out of Cole (Alchemist too with that beat!) That’s just how I feel on it! :smugdraper:

@Heavy_Handz is my dude on here, and it really does hurt sometimes when I see him go a little extra hard on Conway when he's bigging up Benny. I've absolutely noticed it a lot.

He went real hard on me last week for me making a comparison between Prodigy and Boldy James. And I'm only the thousandth person to do that, including mad producers that have worked a ton with both of them, and Alc makes it all the time. To Heavy's credit, he does fukk with Conway and I feel like he does it sometimes halfway because he knows it gets us to react like this :heh:

At the end of the day I do think he's a pretty big Griselda fan across the board, but obviously fukks with Benny the most.

@Heavy_Handz Reject 2 Conway could NOT have written songs like Forever Dropping Tears, Spoon's House, Babies & Fools, Forever Ago, Ameenah's Van, Proud Of Me, You Made It...

I can't fukking wait for ya'll to hear the closing title track on GDMM and some other songs on there like Stressed, Guilty, Much More, Chanel Pearls, and Celestial Beings.

@Ty-Fife and @Xtz23 ya'll tag me when you hear those joints on GDMM and lemme know what you think. Crazy levels of introspection.

The one thing I'm hoping to hear more of on Benny on Tana 4 is him letting us into his life a bit more. He did it a little bit more on Burden of Proof, but Conway's really opened up a lot more of his life to people. A lot of times I still feel like Benny has a lot of armor up. I want more joints like Langfield, Trade It All, and Thank God I Made It.

Knowing how much of his life Conway shares on GDMM, I really hope we get some more of that from Benny on TT4.

If Benny your preference when it comes to this shyt ain't nothing wrong with that, breh. But the nikkas like me that watched them come up in real time from 2015 know they would have still be where they are now with or without Benny. And this ain't no knock on how much he improved since 2016, the nikka is literally in my current top 5 and in my avi. And as far as elevating the Griselda sound, it goes both ways cause Gunn is the one that brought nikkas like Madlib, Roc, Alc, Fahim, Monk, Conductor etc into the fold unless you're referring to a more mainstream sound, like Hit-Boy who worked with Conway the same year, too. They were already on the map before Ben got signed off the hype of them aligning with Em and THEN signing Ben officially.

I really liked Forever Dropping Tears. You’re right he has opened up in a way Benny hasn’t I will admit that all the way. Even on Thank God I Made it Benny wasn’t really tuned all the way in to letting people really in. Conway on The Cow that’s how I need him to come! It’s like for the same reasons I love Conway (his ability to really craft deep joints that show him vulnerable and really relatable) are the same weakness I see in Benny. Also Benny’s strength of versatility & ability to craft songs with great hooks and his work ethic to elevate his flows and bars is what I’m disappointed in with Conway when he attempts some more upbeat tracks or crossover joints and comes off not authentic
& lazy. That’s why they are perfect together and we need a Benny/Conway album :feedme:

See, this blows my mind breh. For me, it's the exact opposite. After TT3 and Plugs 1 benny was my favorite artist in the game. TT3 dropped November 2018 and Plugs 1 dropped June/July of 2019. Conway's 2019 was :trash: and he dropped his 2 worst projects ever in Food 3 and Look What I Became.

But to me it's been the exact opposite. What do I know now about Benny that I didn't know after Plugs 1? A few things. Not a ton. What have I heard Conway rap about since 2019 that I hadn't heard before? His grandad dying at the hands of police, him failing his son, sleeping with his girls' sister, having PTSD and bipolar, being an alcoholic, how bad the U.S. prison system is, George Floyd, him being able to actually get surgery to fix his face but choosing not to, etc. There are entire songs and verses dedicated to these topics, and not just one-off bars.

I'll give you this...the Big Ghost produced projects are generic as fukk :hubie: I'm with your criticism on there all day. And I legit wouldn't argue with you here if you criticized Conway on literally anything else. But like...the main 2 things he's done in the past 3 years are expand his subject matter and start executive producing his own projects.

And fukk derailing this thread with this. Cole ate food but I don't think Benny got washed. To me they approached the track differently :manny:
No doubt. I'm happy to get the thread back on track. My bad.

For what it's worth, the thread has cooled off a bit anyways. Track's been out and thread's been up for almost 2 weeks. The average daily post count in here has dropped considerably. We're keeping overall discussion moving, and lots more opportunities for people to discuss Benny.

If people are super upset about a page or two derail, fukk 'em. :pacspit:
That’s why they are perfect together and we need a Benny/Conway album :feedme:
we definitely do man :salute: it's all love

I won’t argue with you on that I’m just such a fan of Benny’s vivid hustler bars & I mean he is ELITE in that department that I overlook some of the things that Conway is great for like being more introspective. I truly feel that Benny is really a workaholic and really takes pride in perfecting his skillset to a point that deep down I feel that Conway has more potential to be greater but I think sometimes I view him as lazy when he should be working harder especially with a lot of his half-assed hooks & shyt. It’s all love!

I agree with every word of this. I love how Benny moves in the game at this point. He acts like a big dog. IMO the top dogs don't drop more than 1-2 times per year. Benny treats his shyt like it's a premium service. This is a big reason why I hate the Conway and Big Ghost tapes that Conway admits he records in like 2 days just to feed the streets. No need for it at their level.

Benny had a real special verse here with Cole, and I like that he's treating this album like it's a really special one. (see how I brought the thread back on topic?)

I haven't seen anyone debate 2 verses like on this song in a long ass time.

Man, I’m glad we see eye to eye. We usually do but I haven’t taken the time to explain myself for a while so I been coming off like an a$$hole & I admit that :hubie: This song tho! Bro! This is something very special and it never gets old. I can’t stop listening. Instant classic in my book :unimpressed:

@TheDarceKnight beat butchas on tana talk 4 too got confirmed by alc
Oh word?

I'm actually not gonna be a downer and say I'm curious to see what he and Daringer come up with. I think it'd be doper if all 3 of them just worked on it individually than if Beat Butcha and Daringer are together on it. Actually made a Beat Butcha playlist yesterday after this thread and it's pretty dope. Forgot he did these here
