He played Daredevil.

Or is this one of those instance when nikkas want to pretend as if they don't know the definition of the word "similar"?
The way you put it out was as if he did a bundle of roles similar to Batman. Where in reality he only did 1, which is still debatable if it's similar to Batman or not. I did see the similarities. Both different characters, different personalities, different story/

The concept of Batman is simple, the character is not. On film they've never actually fully gone into the psychological makeup of the character. Nor have they ever put him in situations where his psyche could be examined.
welp if you think you're going to get that out of a Snyder film you're mistaken.

And while he'd be considered the worst actor of the Batman actors, how was George Clooney or Val Kilmers batman flicks? Terrible. Writing and direction is the most important thing, Great writing and direction will get the most out of your actors.

It's not debatable if Batman is similar to Daredevil, particularly when it comes to how they've recently been portrayed on film.

In the Daredevil film he father was brutally murdered and that drove him to be brooding ruthless vigilante by night that had trouble balancing his civilian life and relationships with his nighttime activities. How in the hell is that NOT similar to what they were doing with Batman on film?

I never said I expected that from a Snyder film. i'm really not even a fan of the Man of Steel.

And yeah obviously screenwriter and director play a HUGE role in how the film will come out, I never argued that otherwise. In fact I would have preferred Ben Affleck Direct the next Batman film rather than star in it.

*edit*

And I'm not sure why you mentioned great directing and screenwriting bringing the best out of actors when Snyder and Goyer have proven to rather mediocre with a couple flashes of brilliance.

I agree. I can atleast see him as batman, and since there was that rumor months ago about him starring as Batman in the justice league flick, I assume they saw something from him that impressed them.

Heath Ledger was widely recognized as a phenomenal actor BEFORE playing the Joker.

The only questions about Michael Keaton was if he could pull off drama, but the only people who were even questioning that were those who had only his more mainstream films.

:ehh: Well said

But when it comes to the type of performance needed for those characters, they do differentiate. But what I don't get is why people hold these actors' bad tomatoes against them even after a decade and even when they showed they have grown from that and became better.

If you watch the Daredevil film again they way they tried to do the character was very much might Batman right down to the gravely voice, showing the wear and tear on his body, and even the whole "i'm going ot instill fear in people" stuff.

And I actually DON'T think Affleck has grown as a actor. I think he's a decent actor that can give an occasional very good performance, but I realize those very good performances only happen when he's involved with writing the script or directing.

you guys worry too much

same dudes complaining about affleck being batman probably hype up ryan reynolds being born to play the flash.

:usure:

bale was a pretty bad batman. the voice and the action were :scusthov: but no one really cared because it was all about the villains. same thing with man of steel.. cavill had like 10 lines.. but zod/faora killed it.

and if cranston is lex? :whew:
