Haven't read a single lie in either her or TN-C books.
I'm aware that you have an awful opinion about a variety of things, and you will oft-twist information about a subject to stretch it to fit your viewpoint.
I'm 38. I attended an HBCU and have a degree in biochemistry. I took somewhere between 4-6 social science courses dealing with race, gender and overall humanity. During that period, I read multiple books written byBell hooks. I think she is a brilliant mind. I give you that background so that you will understand my position. Bell hooks is a writer. Kevin Powell is a writer. Tah Na Hesi Coats is a writer (all have/attempted to have degrees connected to writing). Their educational backgrounds aren't connected to humanity sciences. They have the same social experiences that I have.....they are just better at expressing their thought process through writing. That is why we can identity with most of their writings. Their writings connect the the emotions of our shared experience. Here, is where we diverge however; Cornell West Has degrees in philosophy and theology. Tommy Curry has a degree in philosophy. They are familiar with scientific testing methods. Tommy Curry's work stands up because he understands data collection and interpretation required through the scientific method. Simply put, the ideas and opinions of the writers has never been vetted through the scientific method. That is why Tommy Curry has been able to refute a lot of current feminist theories (some developed based on writings from Bell hooks). We have to continue to vet the ideas expressed by the current age writers through data collection and observable human behavior over time.

bell hooks and Coates are just two strands or white supremacy attack dogs.
Controlled opposition used to attack black americans for the benefit of their puppet masters.
I would suggest you not listen to either of them, their audience isn't black americans, its white americans.
Not too familiar with Tahesi, what's the word on him?

He is one of those super liberal black folks that translates black stuff for White liberals and occasionally make them feel bad for being White...

He is most famous for his books, getting shytted on by Cornel West and his argument for reparations

He is a writer. Younger than all the other folks in this thread except possibly Tommy Curry. Most popular thing I read from him was the case for reparations. You can probably find it online somewhere. He is seen as a new age extension of black thought by some-not me.

Typical neo-liberal black face trend hopper. You will rarely hear him speak out for black empowerment, he will carry and give validity to negative false tropes against straight black men. and praise and promote intersectionality and its negative effects on the black american citizens, look no further than his non-sense Black Panther run.

He is a good writer, he has no substance or goal outside of white acceptance.

So run of the mill, The Root, Blavity Black types who tows the line with 'Black consciousness', and white, far-left cuckery? It's a wonder why his name seemingly came, and went.

Basically, but I have that same criticism for Cornell West. They start with wonderful work and pro-black advocacy. As their celebrity increases, their views seem to shift to women, transgenders, homosexuals annnnnnd black people. This need to include all possibly disinfranchized populations in black peoples struggle is problematic for me. But Ta Nahisi Coates case for reperations article was masterful in it's presentation. It's what put him on the map in 2014

Cornell West maybe one of the single biggest disappointments(besides J.J) for Black ppl in the past 20-25 years! At one time has was seen as a stall-worth, to the point, revolutionary, unmoved by the pressure of white judgement, and white patriarchy, similar to a X archetype. His very public unraveling would be disheartening, and sad, were it not amusing being by his own hands, via jealousy toward Obama.

Coates was raised by panthers, has a black family, went to an HBCU, and wrote one of the most influential pieces on reparations in a generation.

To think he's not about "black empowerment" is BS.

You just want him to be a rabble rousing radical.

Coates specifically avoids women and then catches flack for it. WTF are you talking about?
