I'm gonna keep all this in mind for the next time it happens, thanks for all of the suggestions
I attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and as most people know, the campus is predominately white. I am a double major in Sociology and Political Science and in most of my classes I am the only black person, which subjects me to certain questions. Should I be offended that I get asked race specific questions or just answer them and take it as everyone trying to get an alternate point of view?
One professor assumed that I was behind Obama and with a lot of peers coming from upper-class backgrounds took the stance of Republicans when we had a debate. I stood my ground being one of only 3 people supporting the democratic party, but I feel like I am subject to scrutiny in a lot of these situations.

I was 1 of 3 blacks graduating in aerospace engineering from UMD (out 60+ grads)
Try being a buff jock looking cat in math & science courses.
Hmm I should have taken another poli sci course this semester for the heck of it. I wouldn't really run into the same opposition as OP though, every professor out here has openly "liberal" stances. Or overwhelming lean to the left.......
It might be interesting if I went to school in AZ though
Im at UMD right now and Im Mechanical Engineering and aint too many blacks in alot of my classes either (well my age at least), hardly any females neither I swear Aerospace, Mech, EE, and CE are the worst majors for young black males socially, hardly any of "your kind" and no bytches neither, nikka be walking in class on the first day like . Thats why for my CORE credit this semester I signed up for some easy ass education class, I walk in thinking finally a chance to be in class with some breezys and then to my dismay its one good looking joint in the class

Random, but my engineering brehs....how you nikkas eating? Thinking of applying to get a masters in biochemical, biomedical or chemical engineering. If the money aint right then its pharmacy school. Need some honest feedback.
I couldnt even tell you, Im still undergrad. But honestly as an engineer I dont really see the point in doing grad school, Im probably wrong but I always thought undergrad was what you needed and anything form their was going to be based on experience. I was going to goto grad school for a business degree or something like that.
You probably right. I graduated already with a BS in Chemistry though. Now im doing my Masters in Chemistry. So it sounds kind of dumb to get another masters in engineering. Im gonna talk to some advisors at these big schools. If its not worth it, then i'll just do bytch ass pharmacy and take home a paycheck counting pills all day.
