Now you a different subject. mental health vs. physical safety.
Numbers and your opinion dont warrant the level of stress someone should experience on the job. Their job is to put people that do not want to be in cages, in cages, friend. Regardless of the numbers the fear of dying can be high and every once and a while death knocks at their door. One police officer dies roughly every 60 hours. Whos to say it will be. Also many officers are injured in the line of duty which also makes the job dangerous.

14000 officers were injured in 2012 in the line of duty. Its a dangerous job.

Truthfully you're more likely to get killed during a traffic stop, by a car not moving over and hitting you..then getting shot

Where did you get this from? :snoop:

OP already provided the correct numbers and you just made some up.

I wonder how much of those "injuries" were from a 5'6 female who left a few scratches on an officers forearm

Well they clearly didnt in this case. Only what? 50 murders a year for police? That's extremely safe.

so by this logic its more dangerous to smoke cigarettes than it is to be a cop? :skip:

what you clowns dont wanna take into account is the stress related to this job...pulling somebody over at night...shyt in the daylight...intervening in domestic disputes...etc...all the shyt that cops have to do

so according to the logic of the threadstarter its more dangerous being a black man :patrice:

lets look at that: i submit to you that the odds of a black man being murdered are proportionate to his environment....a hood cat is a lot more likely to get got than a bruh from a more affluent background....

like i said earlier...stats dont tell the whole story

This is a very ignorant thread yall :camby:

You tell me?

Do you consider every job that has a low number of deaths non-dangerous. Is football a dangerous job? Is boxing or a UFC fighter a dangerous job. Lets use our brains here.

being a cop is not more dangerous than working on a oil rig, being in construction, electrician etc.

it's not only the danger (which is real) its the stress and constantly seeing the worst society has to offer. One of my highschool teachers was an ex-cop and he left the force because of how it changed him mentally. He became suspicious of everyone around him, even his loved ones.

and a cop who patrols beverly hills or some hicktown in north dakota is less likely to get "killed on the job" than a cop who patrols southside chicago or oakland

the odds of a cop being murdered are proprtionate to his enviroment too :troll:
