Everyone is posting truh.t I left my old job seeking more, but lookimg back, I was pretty happy.

Grass is always greener. Find out what you want in life, then slowly chase that.

Grass is greener indeed.

I left my last job a month ago making decent money, but I didn't feel motivated and actually bored with it. But no real complaints outside of that.

I left there thinking that partnering up with some one for an independent business venture would the best way to go for my future, but 2 weeks in I was already thinking damn I think I made the wrong move.

My mind has been in over drive the last two weeks thinking how I can better this situation or get out of it and get something better :yeshrug:

nothing wrong w wanting more, but it's important to keep a balanced perspective. you can't get stuck constantly looking up at people that have what you don't and forget about the people below who don't have what you do.

what is it exactly that you want out of life? More opportunity, more money, more women, more freedom?

Can't relate. I make sure I play as hard as I work. Life is too short not to and we can all die tomorrow.

most of us will never be satisfied, its a direct result of the conditioning in this country that we always have to have MORE or something BETTER

better car
better bytch
more money
etc.

we're achievement stackers in america. and nobody is happy. :heh:

You're right I didn't think of it like that.

All I really want ultimately to live and play by my rules as much as possible not that I don't now. I'm just tired of dealing with "the man" and other peoples bullsh!t.

Great topic, I think once some unforeseen things come up that affects you or your friends familly. (disease, suicide, natural disease) it will change your perspective real quick.

That is why I slow down and enjoy things more.

all of you are unknowingly slaves to money, materialism & status. we've been conditioned to believe that these things define "success" and the majority of ppl fall for it. as long as your life=work ull never be truly happy

I'm good at enjoying the moment.

I can deliberately step outside of the occasion and consider what a milestone I have reached &/or how the moment will not come again.

I am so good at luxuriating in successes that I risk complacency... We are not on that right now.

it is a trait of white men in the US that they define themselves by their job, thus failure to achieve or loss of status is psychologically hurtful to them. I admit I define myself by my job, its what happens when you immersed by a dominant culture.

Man, I vibe with everybody on this topic. I trying to get a job in an extremely competitive field and it's not working out like I planned as of now. Ima keep pushing while I wait for that elusive 1st opportunity. So, I can be lookin at people like :myman::obama: in the future

It's from a humor site, so take from it what you will, but I think it's worth a read anyway:

5 Scientific Reasons Your Idea of Happiness Is Wrong | Cracked.com

Being that guy who's always wondering about the people around him that always seem happy/content, I've always wondered if I was missing out on something since I wasn't constantly satisfied/content/happy. After reading that and actually examining my life compared with others around me, I began to wonder if I was just thinking about it the wrong way. Maybe happiness shouldn't be an end in itself, at least in the common way we think about it.

Now I just try not to worry too much about being "happy", especially in regards to achievements and goals. So long as I don't get lazy or complacent with where I am now, I'll just do my best to enjoy the ride so to speak. Happiness will hopefully flow out of that.

Real thread 100%. I'm a young nikka but I just felt the ether of God laughing at my plans. Now I plan ahead, manage my money and work my ass off. Just to surpass the next man. It's frustrating though to look at the lack of control of your circumstances and to realize just how slow time is. Until you look back and see how fast time goes like :wow:

Personally, my plans have a notorious habit of falling through like trying to hold on to a handful of water. But shyt happens. Now I plan with the present and try to always be out living when I'm not working . It's worked pretty so far. I'm back on track.

Anyway my grandmother told me: The key to happiness is staying thankful.

I had a lot of struggle in 2011. Now I make it a point to go to church to thank god I was out of my situation. I look at nikkas at the bus stop and remember when I was on that bytch and there's a good chance I'll stop stressing over a current situation.

Good song for this thread
