Athletic Performance Enhancement
Summary: Preliminary studies suggest that the use of bee pollen does
not significantly enhance athletic performance. However, well-designed
clinical trials are required before recommendations can be made in this
field.
Evidence: No changes in objective measures of athletic performance
were reported in a group of athletes taking bee pollen for 75 days
. Ath-
letic performance was evaluated in this double-blind, placebo controlled
study of 46 normal healthy adults (ages 20–42 years). All subjects in-
gested similar capsules, one of which contained granulated brown sugar,
the other 400 mg bee pollen. Six tests were administered before and af-
ter the 75-day administration period. These tests were VO2max, forced
vital capacity, forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1), grip strength, per-
cent body fat, and body weight. No statistically significant differences
were noted in scores

this is a summary of various studies for 'athletic performance' it was graded 'C' ( unclear or conflicting scientific evidence)

A flavonoid compound found in bee pollen and propolis. Can boost testosterone when injected into testicles; otherwise isn't absorbed at all. Unless better absorption arises, chrysin remains a pretty interesting colon cancer preventative agent that does not boost testosterone.

so basically placebo, unverified :duck:.

I haven't got sick or anything and grew 2 inches since taking a spoonful 5 days a week for a year and a half and I just turned 25 so if it really is a placebo it's a damn good one.

everytime i hop in a Coli thread like this, i end up spending $$$ at the health store for some shyt that don't work...

somebody gonna pay for this bottle of Turmeric Curcumin on my dresser :ufdup:

Make sure you look up some studies to make sure what you buy actually works. I always look for studies on my supplements.

I bought some a week or so ago and been putting it in my smoothies.

Haven't noticed much of a difference, energy levels seemed to have improved a bit :ehh:
