A nikkas laugh when I say Daz produced most of Doggystyle, Dre came in and “mixed” it and took the producer credit also :mjlol:

“Mixed it” is a great euphemism for not making the beats but actually producing the songs

What most Hip-Hop fans don’t realize is that making the beat is not producing the song - this would be like calling the set designer the director of the movie. Often in Hip-Hop even the engineer has more claim to actually producing the song than the beatmaker who was never in the studio with the rapper

It's kinda crazy tho how different standards are held with these terms on this board. Dre is called goat producer for having the greatest mixing skills, but when Magic 2 and 3 are mixed as poorly as they are the mixing engineer gets the blame and Hitboy is still considered a great producer. Not saying you're doing this, just something I noticed in general.
