Be honest, in their prime who in your opinion was better Jadakiss or Beanie Sigel?

Better rapper/MC

I stand by my statement, which I'm surprised is getting pushback. Jada isn't X, he wasn't delivering great hooks on a near song for song basis. Him, Beans, Bleek, Styles, etc are all spitters who needed help writing SONGS. Beans had better help than Jada, and the result was better albums. Seems simple to me.

Jada had a great budget. What did he do with it? Recorded in Miami, bought beats that were made with Jay and bigger rappers in mind, and made a bunch of questionable tracks that no one pushed back on or touched up. I respect Dee and Wah but nobody is gonna tell you they were like Kanye, Just Blaze, Guru, or even Irv. And Swizz is wack so...yea.
Who helped Beanie?

Jay was hands off

Just and Ye just gave him beats to rhyme over

Beans was an animal, when it came to lyrics, and making songs. In his prime, he could stand with ANYBODY (a lot of times, outshining them). The sad part was, Beans consistently reiterated, rapping was a "hobby" to him (and he was that nice). He wasn't no rapper. :wow:

Beans (for whatever reason), garnered A LOT of respect, from certain dudes, EVERYWHERE. Kiss is fukked with (in any hood USA) too, but the shyt wit Beans, hit different. They both had the streets, but Beans (even more so), hit different wit the street guys. Maybe his pain/stories, were more relatable. I think his passion, hit different, in his music. Plus Beans had the face of a guy, you would see, in EVERY black community.

Kiss' strongest trait, was CONSISTENCY. His craft, and his pen, NEVER faltered. He too, could hang with GREATS. As much as it pains me (cuz I love both equally), I'll say Beans in his prime (which feels like blasphemy). :wow:

They gave him hooks and structured beats specifically for him, Guru essentially exec produced his albums, telling him when to add/remove lines and shyt. This shyt matters, especially for c-level rap artists like that who are not songwriters. That's not a diss, it's just how this works. Labels tend to have a top guy who does everything well, song wise (X, Jay, Ja, 50, etc) and then the guys under them need guidance from your in-house writers and producers. That's literally how all these places operated. I don't think it's shocking that the guys who got the best advice or help made the best albums - nor is it shocking to suggest you could easily change around those artists and get entirely different/better albums depending on who they were working with.

wait wait wait...yall giving Beans credit to Guru now? :dead:

Beans overachieved with his talent, Kiss underachieved. thats facts...kiss is a better technical mc...yet beans music was better.

being overly complex aint necessary when your bars get to the point and convey the message desired.

aint that the reason most y'all got pac as y'all goat?

Die
Look at Me Now
what ya life like I & II
Feel it in the air
Its On
etc

then on top of it, Jada couldn't even wash Beans head up in their battle...most nikkas got it as a draw. That would have been the time for Jada to show he's "head and shoulders" above Beans.

Only reason this debatable is bc Beans couldn't stay outta jail

Fresh out the federal cases I got several
About four or five just had to settle two
They said I try to show a nikka what the metal do
But didn't succeed the nikka still breath
Attempt please I would of hit him in his peas
With the Mac with the beam that got back in the breeze
Only clap from the neck up I'd let the heck-lar plug 'em
I don't think they made Kevlar scullys fukk it
I should of let the are touch him cuffed him
To the bumper drug him two city blocks
The juice in me and the henny shot
Four perks' and a hit of wop
You shoot first if you get the drop
Your deuce work if you hit the spot
Lose the nurse some one get the doc'
Remove his shirt his pressure drop
Check his vital sign his hemorrhaging finish him
FLATLINE

Jadakiss was better... not by too much but he always had the IT factor. And let's keep it real Charisma plays a big part in music as well. I like beans shyt, street, gritty, introspective... but kiss had a certain flair about his rhymes that sticks out... shyt kiss isn't even the best member of the lox to me but from an overall standpoint he is

nikkas really gonna sit up here and act like those Jada album weren't huge letdowns back then. Jada did have more mainstream appeal at the time and bigger singles (We Gonna Make It, Knock Yourself Out and a few others I'm forgetting) but Beans albums were just special IMO.
shyt still gives me chills
