In sum, I'm just saying, what you seem to be reading and watching about Islam from two threads I've seen you make is just really factually and theoretically weak. You'd be better served by looking at actual scholarly sources, that's all.

They see me trolling, they hating.....
We seem to be talking past each other. The issue about an angel revealing the Quran is different from the issue of whether the other guys in Makkah got the Quran from hearing it from Muhammad. There are actual graves of men who died in the inter-tribal fighting over Muhammad's message breh  There are peace treaties and specific hills and things. Caves and carvings and trading trails. He was there alright.

When it comes to the Quran, you're essentially saying, what's the proof that all the primary evidence isn't faked a few decades later. But nobody can prove a negative. Maybe people who think it was composed later should do the proving.

My only interest are the Quran and it's origins bro.

I asked you to point me in the direction of some but......

you're starting off with a goal in mind though. you want to believe the quran was not recited by muhammad so you want to find where else it might have come from. in that case you're going to end up with conspiracy by default because there's no evidence from that era that suggests such a thing

What's the point when the conclusions will either be labeled a "conspiracy" or that the Quran is the actual word of God. If my only goal is to find out the origins of the book and I already admit that I don't subscribe to supernatural concepts, then you already stated that it will be a futile attempt on my part. What scholarship would help me seek an answer to the questions I seek?

It sounds like you're saying none at all.

Okay let me lay my point out for you in simple terms. You don't believe that the Quran was revealed by an Angel. Fine. But then what? Does it have to be a time shifted collaborative effort? Can't Muhammad have felt like he received it and recited it?

Absolutely. But this is not what Muslims believe. According to them the book is so great that it could have only been authored by God himself.

but yeah, that makes sense though. However I don't know enough about his educational background to be able to determine if he was capable of such a thing. Muslims believe he was allegedly illiterate (but that doesn't necessarily mean he was stupid, I'm sure alot of people were illiterate back then) Most muslims I know imply that he was too stupid to create the words from the book himself though. He'd just say the shyt out loud and his peoples would write it down......

He must of had a very great memory to remember all that shyt the Angel told him tho

HOLLYWOOD WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME, BROTHER!

breh there are a zillion books and whole continuous decades-long peer reviewed periodicals dedicated to religion and middle eastern history... google it. go to wikipedia or something. I don't know of any off the top of my head but both the book and this video doc OP posted were completely misguided; the former dismissed in peer reviewed journals and the latter not even a worthwhile doc as reviewed a few posts above

I saw this - weak sauce - speculation and really no hard evidence for his theory (some circumstantial though).

It was a pretty weak documentary, but what do you expect from a Christian, he's not going to go too deep when his faith is just as flimsy, but it comes down to do you trust oral history, anyone whos played chinese wispers must know how precarious it is.

EDIT: not that it matter too much but this is a Channel 4 documentary not BBC
