This was cool of him.
I've always found the "Brock is a lazy part timer" thing to be untrue. I think people are just so used to wrestlers who are literally willing to risk it all for the business (side eye/shout out to Daniel Bryan) that they're kinda stunned when they come across a guy who looks at it as just a job. With Brock, he's got other priorities and other things going and the WWE (and pro wrestling in general) isn't the be all/end all for him. I also think he knows his worth and negotiates accordingly. He does what they ask him to do and that's all he's gonna do. That man just wants to secure his bag and run down deer in the wild and train and be unbothered. That's ain't lazy, that's just good business.
Now, I'm the first to admit from a fan perspective his deal is frustrating, but a lot of that ain't on Brock. He doesn't have to show up every week to maintain a presence. They could pre-tape a bunch of interviews/segments or have video packages or something that keeps him top of mind and keeps him in the mix. There's ways to work around him not being there...they choose not to. That's on them. They're the ones who built their entire main event scene around two guys, one of whom they *knew* was only gonna be available for a handful of dates. That's on them. At the end of the day, the only thing you can "blame" Brock for is negotiating himself a deal that allows him to do what he wants and get paid what he feels he's worth. That should be everyone's goal tbh.
