You right. That's the problem with the Detroit scene...EVERYBODY wants to floss and say they are signed to a Major Label not to long ago I pissed off a LOT of local cats that I know because they were on social media celebrating that Tone Tone was signing to cash money I was like would he sign with them for when they don't release music from anyone not named Nicki or Drake cats tried to argue me down that it was a good move. Dude was already a known name on the local scene so why go split your pot with this nikkaFat Trel the only other rapper with a name from DC I can think of.
Detroit definitely got a solid underground music scene, I don't agree at all that it's comparable to DC that way. Business-wise though their indie scene was never as organized or as big as the one in Houston or the Bay. The big names in Detroit are all affiliated with major labels for the most part except for horrorcore acts like Esham. Groups like Doughboyz Cashout SHOULD be pushing a local indie line because they make local sounding music but they're signed to an out of state indie label (CTE) which is really a shell subsidiary of Atlantic.
Dude did you REALLY just pull DJ Kool out your ass again like I told you I was groomed in DC for some time and DJ Kool, whom I knew personally, is just a DJ! NO ONE and I repeat NO ONE from DC would count him as a Hip Hop artists and AGAIN HE HAD ONE DAMN SONG IN 1996!!! dude seriously have you been locked in a closet or some shyt?!?DJ Kool for one. But a fake azz hip hop head like you wouldn't know that.
DC is a small town though. That area is commonly known as the DMV. If you are talking DMV:
Clipse
Pharrell
Chris Brown
D'Angelo
Just off the top of my head. Now go on breh
and NONE of those artists you named are considered DMV. I bet NOT ONE person on this board from the TRUE DMV would say they were. I would do a ban bet with your stupid ass on that one. Stop speaking on shyt your stupid ass knows NOTHING about
