bytch nikka you straight up said the Bay is banging and mentioned 2 acts who haven't had any hits or relevancy since probably 2000 but you expected props :martin:
You REALLY don't see nothing wrong with that stupidity :dahell:

LoveRance dropped in 2011. If you REALLY want it to take it there:

G-Eazy - Wikipedia

Gerald Earl Gillum (born May 24, 1989), better known by his stage name G-Eazy, is an American rapper, songwriter and record producer from Oakland, California.[1] His first major-label album, These Things Happen was released on June 23, 2014. It album peaked at number 3 on the US Billboard 200. His second studio album, When It's Dark Out, was released on December 4, 2015. It featured the single "Me, Myself & I", which reached the top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100.

I'm not with all the pop sh*t but since you wanted to take it there that was less then a year ago, now go on you bitter azz 50 year old and still postin' f*ckboy :camby:

The D is flooded with different rappers and mad nikkas get love and recognition there from inside and outside of the area.

With all due respect no area has an independent hip hop scene like the Bay Area. There are neighborhoods in the Bay as big as Detroit breh :francis:

The Bay is a Subregion.
You should just say Oakland and Detroit...RIGHT NOW.
Of course no area has an independent hip hop scene like the bay, that's what y'all are known for.

I think the scene in Houston is pretty decent too, it's just that the Bay really is its own cotdamn world :wow: Even if you left Frisco out of it breh Detroit ain't there. Detroit might be more comparable to a DC hip hop scene. Detroit is mos def RELEVANT as f*ck (J Dilla, Bilal, Em, Royce, Big Sean, etc) , but it's just not as big breh.

10 years ago I would have agreed with that. City Hall Records, SMC and Thizz Nation alone were doing bigger things independently than any other indie label in the 2000s.

These days, not so much. The management is still the same (Stretch, Gary Archer, etc.) but the industry model has changed and the Bay Area changed too. Two of those three labels don't even exist anymore, gentrification has hit the Bay Area very hard and the lot of the venues that used to cater to the local Hip Hop scene have either closed or changed ownership and ceased to cater to our market. The Bay Area indie scene is becoming more lowkey every year, it's still around but not in the same way it used to be.

No, what makes it worse is Detroit is a sister city..and this cat is salty for no reason..

Maybe if he moved to the Bay from the "D' he could move some units too..:manny:
who's salty...just called him out for his idiocy :yeshrug:
Nah breh he can't make it in the D with no local comp, how's he gonna make it in the Bay with damn every block having a known independent rapper :heh:
Y'all clowns already know my history :manny: and the D is just like the bay in that the city will support it's own. But I would look like a fool when asked to show how the D is relevant and I talk about Boss or Awesome Dre or some shyt :martin:

nikka who the fukk besides Wale has DC EVER produced that made noise on the HIP HOP scene. nikka I lived in DC for over 10 years so I KNOW what's been popping on their scene. :martin:

Fat Trel the only other rapper with a name from DC I can think of.

Detroit definitely got a solid underground music scene, I don't agree at all that it's comparable to DC that way. Business-wise though their indie scene was never as organized or as big as the one in Houston or the Bay. The big names in Detroit are all affiliated with major labels for the most part except for horrorcore acts like Esham. Groups like Doughboyz Cashout SHOULD be pushing a local indie line because they make local sounding music that has a decent following but they're signed to an out of state indie label (CTE) which is really a shell subsidiary of Atlantic.

DJ Kool for one. But a fake azz hip hop head like you wouldn't know that.

DC is a small town though. That area is commonly known as the DMV. If you are talking DMV:

Clipse
Pharrell
Chris Brown
D'Angelo

Just off the top of my head. Now go on breh :camby:
