Yeah, he had done Troma movies which definitely push the envelope as far as poor taste so they knew something. But I don't think they knew about the pedo tweets as no one has seen them until recently. It could just be a case where you delegate this to an underling who said he was OK and they believed them. I doubt Feige, Horn or Iger are doing the background checks themselves.

Oh they knew but they just caved into pressure since it was brought up again. That's why I'm not giving Disney any props for the firing. Those tweets were known before the first Guardians film went into preproduction but it was a different atmosphere compared to the #metoo era.
