...resisting arrest played no factor in him being shot to death? Really?
The cop who shot the guy is partly responsible for this, and the guy who resisted arrest is partly responsible for this.
Like...if
you know that there are monster cops out here that will kill you right where you lay on the ground, why would you resist arrest? I just don't get it. Sorry.
Monster cops that are out to kill are not supposed to exist PERIOD!
This is the job of the police:
- protect
- serve
- deliver criminals into the hands of the law.
- Police are responsible for catching criminals who threaten the livelihood, property and peace of other citizens.
That's it. No where in their job description does it state that they need to be ready to kill at a moments notice. Its not the polices job to play executioner.
You know damn well that these monster cops wouldn't dare do this to a politicians daughter, a white med student, etc. They wouldn't even fukk around and mess with a gun-toting Tea Party member like that either, but if it was your own black momma, the wouldn't hesitate to shoot her if her inhaler fell out of her purse.
While resisting is generally a stupid thing to do, the cop is hired to restrain the resister. When you're a cop, you're always going to face people resisting. Whether its a drunken idiot trying to evade your handcuffs, or a guy fleeing on foot, its your job to catch them and not shoot them. That's why they require cops to be in shape and be able to handle themselves in hand to hand combat, but these cops straight out of Afghanistan and Iraq are here to shoot first and ask questions later. If you can't do the job and have to pull out your gun at the slightest hint of provocation, then policing is not for you.
Very little de-escalation attempts and trigger happy decision making.
I will always side with the resister in these cases as long as the resister is not shooting back at the police.
