I'm excited to see this but for a teaser featuring batman and superman this was a let down. And it does more to make me afraid of them butchering the characters than of them getting it right

I'm not really feeling it. Having Superman painted as a villain is just stupid. Having him being shunned is just stupid... The problem with this movie is that its leaving off the shytty has MOS script. I never liked how they potrayed him in the first one and what they're doing with this is more of the same. the whole "dark" "realism" only goes by so far.

They fumbled with the dark knight trilogy as well. The plot holes got bigger and bigger with each sequel. So you have a flawed MOS, and a flawed trilogy being produced by the flawed makers and what you have is more flawed dialogue. And while I'm sure the CGI will amaze, I got a feeling that just as the movies proceeding this one, it will taste good first viewing but will leave a bad after taste.

Everything about it gets you excited about the movie.

Now this Batman v Superman movie......what am I supposed to be excited about? We see Batman, we see Supes...and we see the showdown. And the buildup to it is all so.........forced.

Like I said, I'm still looking forward to the movie...and I'm still excited to see the finished product. But they could've done a much better job of getting me MORE excited for it instead of less. No Lois, no Lex, no Wonder Woman....da hell is going on here? Superman being told to "go home" after saving people's lives and being portrayed as the bad guy? Sounds like they're continuing to go the wrong way although I'm sure the movie will still be good.

He was being portrayed as a bad guy

The whole lead up is discussing absolute power corrupting those even when the intentions are good. Discussing how having someone who's capable of so much is not necessarily a good thing. Even the way everything is shot (Superman usually being in the dark, him being above everyone else, the kneeling of those soldiers with the Superman patch on their shoulders, and also the "False God" spray paint) is put up to show Superman in a negative light. Obviously, he's not a bad guy but the best guy....but as someone who saw MOS and is watching this trailer, shyt don't make sense. If you never saw MOS you'll go into the movie thinking Supes is the bad guy. If you saw MOS you're trying to figure out how he went from being a celebrated hero to having his statue defaced in his own city.

One more thing. WHY would they release this trailer more than a full year before the release date

Because, they are trying to bring back comics to this new generation. They will have to keep doing this every 3rd or 4th generation.
This is to keep Batman and Superman top of mind, and maybe even sell cross-promotional products like toys.
Plus justice league is coming out soon, it's also to promote the genre.
Not to mention Stan Lee just dissed DC.

I watched this trailer again. Not really feeling this. Unless they find a way to strip superman of his powers temporarily or give Affleck the same stuff that shot Steve Rogers up with, how are they supposed to legit fight.

If you look at Batman's suit, it's a very similar suit that he wore when he beat up superman and pretended to die.

The property damage and the people who died in the attack? I don't believe he's gone from celebrated to hated. It's a debate they are having. People are worshipping him. People are questioning him. It has some religious elements to it and it's a discussion on what would happen if an alien being did come in contact with our world and how we would handle it.
