I'm not very well-versed in Batman or DC comics but I can't agree with this sentiment because we already have a live-action Batman like that, and his name is Daredevil (Netflix DD, not Ben Affleck ).
I enjoyed the Morrison-written stories of Batman, even if a lot of it wouldn't be immediately translatable to film. Batman has to be depicted the way he is, an extremely intelligent detective/martial artist. Putting him against freaks who often have extraordinary powers/resources allows him to exhibit the full extent of his abilities. It'd be like Death Note meets The Raid where he's basically playing kasparov-tier mental chess with villains while whipping ass AND trying not to cross moral boundaries. As long as the focus is on Bruce Wayne more than Batman, it can be executed to great results.
