I'm taking Franz Wagner number 1 in a re-draft

Streets are saying Cade is not a real point guard, and the team trying to make him into a Luka type of player, but he sucks at being a floor general and it's holding back the team

Yep, That's a large part of the issue but not the only problem.

Truth be told he's a tweener: doesn't have the total craftiness, handles, BBIQ, quickness and savvy like a true elite point guard and is too undersized and unathletic to play forward. Cade should not be the priority as that'd basically be like building around Khris Middleton and not Giannis. You're going to get mediocre results at best if that's your guy. Pistons need to find themselves a true #1 option (and a Jrue Holiday type). Got to go BPA even if it's a point guard.

It only gets worse when you actually try to compare him to Luka. Look at what Luka had already done and was doing at the same age for example. I can't image that version of Luka losing 16 games straight. At the same age Luka went to the WCF. Put that Luka on this Pistons team and they're winning maybe more than half these games. The difference is one is a true point guard/floor general who's been playing and studying the position as a kid (from Ricky Rubio and LeBron) and the other is a forward who tried learning point guard skills in the middle of high school.

Similarly, I thought Green would be a much better shooter than he is and a more functional athlete that knows how to use his first step, fluidity, quickness and hangtime more. I also thought he had more of a scoring bag. It's frustrating seeing him try to create space and play out of control.
Rockets are really fortunate to have got Sengun to build around.

They both honestly got by on being more of a match-up problem during high school to cover up how they each don't play basketball that well.

Im still picking Cade for Pistons in a redraft. He’s the only one task with being the guy. Putting team on their back. Pistons have put worst possible surrounding cast for his skill set. Barnes and Wagner play with good talent around them and play their role. Senguin has been great this season but still not sure of his ceiling. Probably Sabonis level player

Is crazy how garbage 2021 draft turned out people were saying the top 3 would go number 1 in 2020 draft.
I said it earlier in this thread 2022 is who people thought the 2021 class was.

Banchero > Cade
6'10 jumbo player with a handle and shooting who you can truly run your offense through and let them create for themselves and others.

Sharpe > Green
Explosive, athletic three-level scorer who'll intimidate a defense when they go over the top and attack but can pull up to keep a defense honest.

Holmgren > Mobley
Basically a KD on offense and a rim protector on defense.

Cade is not that guy, bro was scared to shot the ball down the stretch its a joke when the guy who was injured for a good part of the season ended up having more points then him.
