Not sure if I'm liking the time jump for two reasons:

1. No one has recognized them in eight years? No one has come looking for them?
2. Not really buying that Sally could just walk away from Hollywood for the middle of nowhere with a psychopath that easily.

I'll give it to Hader for doing things that are unpredictable and we'll see how it all plays out but as of right now the jump feels like unnecessary plot spinning.
1. They look like they in the middle of nowhere. Probably some country ass town in Montana or something.
2. That agent broke Sally. Basically told her she will never be "the girl", but can scrape by with roles that would go nowhere. She acted her ass off when she tried to steal the role and was perfect and the director told her "I wish I could take that and put it in her(the other girl)".

1. Right but keep in mind that Barry is a cop killer who broke out of a maximum security prison. He'd be all over the news. No one in that town ever saw either of them on the news? No one at the restaurant she works at? No feds pass through there? And what about Hank and the Chechens? They aren't on a hunt for them in the past eight years? And what about Jim Moss? He was literally parked outside Sally's apartment when they decided to go. I know this show has had a heightened reality the past two seasons but this is a little too heightened.
2. Yeah I still don't buy her giving up her cushy L.A. existence even with the career setbacks to work at some podunk redneck diner. And the offer he gave her was still near the throne if not the throne itself. I don't see her passing up that opportunity to work at a big film studio even if she's not the main girl to go live in the desert with a murderer she doesn't even love. I dunno, it feels kinda forced for her character.

1. Yes, there are places where shyt dont reach like that. Especially if it's some place in the south. I think you overestimate how much ppl watch the news like that, especially if it's states over. Why would the fed randomly show up in a random town? If the feds in town, it's for a specific case and they not gonna be going door to door with a picture of Barry. They may answer the Moss question next episode. Im assuming hank took over LA like he planned to and we will get more answers on that later. You acting like that was the last episode of the season. I expect for them to cut to Hank chilling, living large but missing Cristobal.
2. Yes, I can see her giving that up. No she isnt next to the throne and definitely not the throne, she would be on z list level shyt and not all of them wouldve been big studio movies. The throne is A List status getting the major parts, not teaching the person to get the major part. Also, dude was offering her acting roles and there was no guarantee it would be big studio films.
What about Sally has made you think she cool with playing the background instead of the main role?

Because everything this show has told us about her for three seasons is that she puts her career over everything. Barry has always been nothing more than an ornament for her. She's a Type A personality to the end, advancing her career is the most important thing to her, she was even trying to do it when she was supposed to just be that girl's acting coach. So the agent comes along and gives her some truth about her career but is also still giving her good offers...she's not going to take it? She's not going to play the background, she's going to bide her time doing those smaller acting roles while she plots how climb back to the top of that studio. And even if they are background roles, it's not more background than being a Middle America waitress in a loveless marriage with a kid she doesn't care about.

I always wonder how many people in nothin happening ass towns are hiding in plain sight from their terrible past or histories. Road trips especially...the random people you meet in passing...how many of them have mad felonies or are on the run or wanted...

I mean, how easy would it be to become a random drone employee at a diner or farmhand in Montana or wyoming or the dakotas, or work for a moving company in Cincinatti while being on the run from New Mexico...and imagine all that before the internet and interstate communication was official.

this a big fukkin country and shyt like that weirds me out
At the end of Better Call Saul, he got exposed by the mother of one of his new minions. All it takes one social media post, or YouTube video from your past to expose you.

It used to be old newspaper articles, or a picture hanging on someone’s wall. At least that’s what happens in the movies.

Well, if that was for certain certain, witsec wouldn't exist or work still. If you're low key you can blend in or restart. Crazy country.

I went to a wedding in Big Sky Montana and the chef at the ranch I stayed in was a brotha with a gold tooth from Houston tx...he had been there for 17 ways and was really happy to help us

Yeah, I was gonna say this works a lot better for white people, because they have more options for isolated places to blend in.

There is no "biding her time", her agent told her she is never going to get the big roles. When she tried to get that girl's part, it was the starring Wonder Woman role. Apparently she isnt gonna go for the offer, since she ran off with Barry instead of taking it :manny:

It obvious the waitress shyt isnt working, which is why you had the scene with her and that waiter/cook, stuff is cracking for her.

1. You think those small town MAGA rednecks are paying attention to the news in liberal LA? An escaped convict isn't national news like that.

Barry is now out to kill Gene because he just made it hot and will put Barry on a national spotlight.

2. Sally was worried about going to jail. How do you expect her to just stay in LA and raise her profile as an actress with Barry on the loose? Don't forget she killed a man. Yes, it was in self defense but she didn't go to the authorities. She was dating a murderer and the press would be all over her. Police would bring her in for questioning and possibly charge her with crimes.

And when was Sally's existence cushy? She was failing and forced to turn to her parents for help. Turning down the acting coach gig was meant to show that her ego wasn't settling for anything less than being an actress. That's why she tried to steal the role her client had. The spotlight is what's she craves not being behind the scenes.

plus she clearly and unarguably aided and abetted a multi homicidal hitman serial killer escaped convict for years. She's going to prison for her son's whole youth at absolute least.
