Impressive. BTW these are going in the Smithsonian, NOT the White House. Obama's WH portrait probably won't be commissioned for a few more years; W Bush didn't get his until 2013 or 2014, I don't remember.

They aren't the official traditional, formal White House portraits though.
The National Portrait Gallery has all kinds of depictions. Including non-traditional artistic stuff.

nah, at first glance it was jarring, but when you contextualize it...its fukking smart as shyt. Shows Obama's willingness to be amongst the scene, instead of being above everyone else. Its amazing.
