Yea still can't believe they played a 4-4 against us:mjlol:

Still can't believe TOSU came out in a 4-4 defense to defend a spread team. I don't think they bracketed Smith all night either. If they forced Bama to run the ball from what I saw last night I don't think Najee Harris beats them but it's definitely a much closer game.
If they were in nickel then it would have been a lot easier for Najee to run obv

Naw he ain’t overate his secondary, he knows they ain’t as talented as years past. Coombs is a press man 97% of the time type coach. Thats all we played before he left for the Titans db coach job. He came back this year and we’ve played soft coverage, bail out technique all year. The problem last night was at a point you gotta realize it ain’t working and adjust. On top of that the 4-4 was just inexcusable, especially against a spread offense. Needed to play nickle and take your chances with Najee beating you in the run game. Hopefully Coombs learns from this though. Breh Sark is a mastermind play caller. Hopefully he brings Texas back to competing for chips. He can exploit mismatches with the best of them. His hire probably brings Ewers back in play for yall too. :francis:

I think Ewers will let things play out before decommitting again. And there are 2 other QBs in Texas that are comparable to Ewers in Weigman and Klubnik so y'all might be safe. Whatever happens between Ewers and Texas will definitely be kept on the hush hush going forward. I'm glad Winfield hadn't committed to y'all yet though.

Moses deserves some credit. He didn't do much but probably his best game of the season just because he didn't get exposed. If he really was in a lot of pain all year then I feel bad for shytting on him so much but the coaches shouldn't have been playing him if he was hurt that bad smh

Ohio State consistently has some of the highest ratings every year no matter the time slot and no matter the channel. What are you blabbering about?

high national ratings or local ratings?

Ohio State don’t have the juice like that down south

Kind of seemed like Coombs overthought the situation, and I know his specialty is in the secondary so maybe he overrated just how good is own secondary was. I know them LBs had to be mad as shyt as the game went on. But Sark called that game perfectly, its why I am high on him coming into UT, just gotta hope being a head coach doesn't overwhelm him and he gets to focus on what he does best.

Did yall go 4-4 at any point before last night? shyt was so odd to me.
I didn't think a 44 was in any coaches bag now days

Family for life
And every recruiting class under Saban has won a title. Love how fans of teams like Auburn, Michigan, etc are baffled by how we get recruits over them.

I didn't get that either.
Im like 4-4 yall need to be in nickel :dahell:
What kinda Lake Erie kush did you sell em @smitty22

I and others been yelling Nickel since we got in the playoffs. Anybody who done played a season of Madden could tell we were about to get raped on the backend after what FryFogle did in the Indiana game :francis:

But, its kind of not even Kerry's fault for real the more I get to sit with it. I mean, he shares some blame for sure with the development of the DBs but as far as the scheme, this is what Day said he wanted and he wouldn't hire anyone who wouldn't agree to run it.

When he was with my Titans as the DB coach:

"The great thing about spending two years with the Titans was we played every coverage there is," Coombs said. "We're the only team in the NFL that played every coverage there is. We played three deep, we played two deep, we played quarters, we play press man, we played zero man to man, we played 2-deep, five man. We played it all because (defensive coordinator) Dean (Pees) has that great catalog, right?

When he came back as the DC here:

We're not going to change a lot. Are we going to play press man to man? You bet your bottom dollar that we're going to play press man to man because we're going to be really good at it. We're gonna have the guys that can do it. And we're going to be really good at. We're going to play three-deep single high a whole lot because that's what they've done here and been very successful.

Anytime asks Day a question about what he wants ran on defense, its been the same every time with little to no variation. He wants Cover 3. Offensive minded coach need to back off the DC and let him do work :yeshrug:

Yall under a rock?

“If I were to say Clemson is like the Spurs, Ohio State is more like the Lakers,” said Jon Lewis, who runs Sports Media Watch. “That's the kind of difference in drawing power that we're talking about.”

The most-watched championship game in the playoff era featured Ohio State. Reaching the final in 2014 against Oregon, it attracted 34.1 million viewers.

Even stretching back to include title games from the 15-year Bowl Championship Series era, only the 2006 Rose Bowl classic between Texas and Southern California garnered more eyeballs.

The Buckeyes stand out as a ratings behemoth.

“They are, along with Alabama and to a lesser extent Notre Dame, the biggest draws in college football,” Lewis said.
