No one ever said police weren't necessary, they just need to have a system of checks and balances that aren't ridden with dirty cops at every level. Just like the article says, Baltimore suffered from over policing before but now the police aren't patrolling, which is what you're supposed to do in a crime ridden neighborhood.

There is a way to patrol black neighborhoods without killing people, snatching people up for no reason, taking their money, verbally/physically harassing residents etc.

What does that have to do with grown ass men throwing hissy fits and refusing to do their jobs because they're catching heat for getting away with God knows what for the past few decades?

It doesn't matter if they think they're animals, they signed up for a job and they need to do it regardless of how the community and police feel about each other. What do the police have to fear? When was the last time a Baltimore cop was targeted and murdered? As long as they're not abusing people's rights or getting away with murder they have nothing to worry about.

It could take up to a year plus to complete a community policing project, you can't leave the residents hanging out to dry for a year. They would have to make some sort of deal with the city that I doubt anyone would agree on.

I agree. My point is all these revolutionaries and protesters "organized" people to march and loot. Theses same folks can affect change in the community. The issue is Nobody really gives a flying fukk unless they can get facetime on CNN or some other look.

Bottom line is gentrification has started and these folks gonna be moved out to East Bumblefukk to kill each other in peace while some savvy investors come in, clean up, set up shop and make that same warzone a walkable yuppie area. Seen it in parts of NY, Philly, New Orleans etc.

The problem is there in black and white. People are afraid. Not of the police killing one dude or taking to riff raff disrespectfully but of a big element fukking up the community from within and killing folks daily and weekly. The cops don't care, these "revolutionaries" don't care, the protestors don't care. Nobody cares except the people ducking bullets.

exactly. Nobody yet has questioned why there hasn't been an organized protest to the violence and a sustained presence in this "warzone." Why are we not going out there with these "leaders" and organizers and settling down there until we get to the bottom of this shyt and clean up the community. People got millions and millions from Soros to organize protests because everybody cares about black lives.

Where did the money go? and here is a great opportunity to save some black lives, where the fukk are they at!!!!!
