Unfortunate
I imagine you can basically sleep walk your way to a respectable GPA in a Baltimore public school by barely trying
Between the shytty schools districts, pockets of the culture that promote bullshyt, and parents who don't give a fukk a lot of our kids are at such a competitive disadvantage out here

As some other brehs have said, it takes effort to get a 1.0 GPA

Eveerone is failing. The kids, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Yea the teachers and administrators are incompetent as hell. But there used to be a time when they cared. These folks now are in just for the paycheck. And I can’t blame them. They are clocking into a war zone everyday. I send my daughter to catholic school. We pay tuition so best believe we are on our kids ass becuz we don’t wanna waste our money. The teachers and administrators know this so they do what they’re actually paid to do. Everybody wins. But it starts with parents who care

Yea wife scale disenfranchisement is the root issue. But that doesn’t excuse parents from not giving a fukk

Yeah but that's the product of the aforementioned system. If we were allowed to maintain an economic base, those lethargic individuals would be ostracized...they'd be the exception not the rule. There would also be a support system to save the kids in those situations.

I’m not surprised by these numbers. Baltimore has been completely gutted by drugs. And the response from the city to the state level has been to allow it to continue.

It starts in the home, these teachers can’t make miracles happen:unimpressed:
I mean…

Yes, many black kids come from single households with one parent working full time. But until we stop the victim mentality and take accountability what can we possibly achieve? 41% brehs. You can’t tell me that’s all circumstance or even racism. We’ve all been to HS. You can sleepwalk through most of that shyt end at least get a C. Hell my cousin was showing me how he found test answers online and passed all his tests due to that. HS is not that hard.

I just don’t see a solution here. Pumping money into schools isn’t working. And even in places with better income like Los Angeles there’s still a huge gap between white and black+Hispanic students. I can’t call it. I dunno what’s going on. All I know is parents are dropping the ball and we got control of that. We may not have control of anything else but the HOME is the key.

This is the root of the problem most of the time
For someone to have a GPA that low means they are skipping school and causing trouble when they show up. Which means they aren’t being held accountable at home. I am a product of this exact same school system and my school was pretty bad. I skated thru 4 years with hardly any effort. But my ass was there everyday and I tried my best to stay outta trouble becuz I knew my parents didn’t play that shyt. My only goal was to keep my C average so I could stay on the football team

That's sad.

School is so easy when you think about it lol

Yes and no. This really is a loaded subject, and in my opinion there isn’t one explanation to determine why the children are failing

I wonder how many of these children have a legitimate learning disability that has not been identified? It’s easy it write children off as not wanting to learn if they don’t know how to.

We know ws did us in. That’s no secret. But ws ain’t gonna fix it either. At some point we have to stop pointing fingers and look in the mirror. The only people that’s gonna get us outta this is us
