That's literally all we need is a big that can guarantee a bucket.

Not turn the ball over, try to dribble up the court, or camp at the perimeter

Okafor can score and score well. We've proven that EFFORT can make anybody defensively better. Most of the people off the bench are shyt defensively anyway aside from maybe Hart.

Plus Okafor only been in the league 2 years and is apparently being blackballed in Philly. We got nikkas that haven't gotten better in 4 years getting knob slobbed where a talented big who can consistently score efficiently is not getting any recognition of playing time.

I personally think we have too many bigs atm though. We need shooters.

And honestly, we don't even give Thomas Bryant any play. Dude plays with a lot of energy, is intelligent, is willing to listen to Lonzo, and can score in multiple ways yet he's stuck in the d-league.
No defense is not only effort. Yes you can marginally improve but if you're slow footed and have slow lateral quickness those limitations will never go away. If Lakers decide that Kuzma is their future at the 4 then they need to settle in on a big that can protect the rim and gobble up rebounds. If Okafor was able to do that then yeah his posting up would be cool, but that man has not shown since college that he'll be a gritty rebounder. Rebounding is usually an innate skill and not many players suddenly just ramp up their rebounding. And I agree Lakers already have enough shytty defenders so why would they add another one. They need a mistake eraser to cover up for all the bad defenders currently on the team.

Knicks also have a PF in Kristaps who can help protect the rim to cover for Kanter's bad defense. Lakers don't have that. You have to play slow footed dudes like that with a stretch 4 that can protect the rim.

U WASTIN YOUR TIME, DUDE DOESNT KNOW THE GAME. CLEARLY JUS A GROUPIE WHO NEVER PLAYED ORGANIZED BALL IN HIS LIFE. ONE OF THE MOST CASUAL "LAKER FANS" YOULL EVER COME ACROSS

Kanter on NYK:

64% FG, 14 ppg, 10.2 rebs.....26 mpg. Knicks are 10-10.

I don't know what NBA yall watching, but again...there's no such thing as "too much talent" for a team extremely devoid of it.

It's up to the coach to put your talent in the best position, and the lesser players (Lopez, Bogut, Zubac, Nance, Randle) will have to find their way...not the other way around.

Trading a 2nd round pick to place Okafor on the Lakers would make the team better. Not worse.

And nobody has explained HOW giving up a 2nd round pick for Okafor would make us a worse team.

I'm talking about off the bench though

And Kuzma looks more like a big 3 to me.

I'm assuming that we're going to get rid of Randle and possibly Deng and someone else. If thats the case, if we could get Oak for a 2nd rounder then I'm down for it

We already have enough bigs on this roster to add Jahlil Okafor.

And some of you think more highly about him than rest of the league, if he was as good as you claim, someone would have traded for him already. The fact is he is not that good. He is a big who cant defend, rebound, can't shoot. He is mainly a post up player in a league where they are trying to run away from that. Lakers don't even run his style, just look at how they treat Lopez. He is not better than Kuzma, Lopez, Randle. I will even take Nance over him because Nance can do the other things that Okafor can't.

Okafor just isn't that good, otherwise Sixers would be playing him at least as a backup but they don't:yeshrug:. I do hope he gets another chance and can become a solid NBA player but it should not be on a team with already enough bigs. Luke has trouble playing all right now, why would Lakers add more to that.
I do wonder if all the people that want Okafor were really watching his games and not looking at just stat lines and highlight reels. Dude is legit one of the most clueless defenders I've ever seen. And on offense set extremely lazy screens and looked like if a play wasn't called for him like he could give less of a fukk on offense. Despite the numbers is a way bigger project than I think people realize.

In fairness, look how clueless Randle was on defense the past couple years compared to this season. There's something to be said for coaching and being in a positive environment. :manny:

I agree but Randle had the physical attributes as far as speed, strength and athleticism to be a good defender. His only real negative being he doesn't have a long wingspan. Okafor has physical limitations that will also put a low ceiling on his defensive capabilities.

A lot of these nikkas talking like he’s a vet, the kid is still 22 lots of time to grow and improve. Lots of time to get better on the defensive side of the ball, and develop a little outside game. But you can’t teach what he gives you in the post. Mans post game is elite :wow:

Some dikkhead here actually said Larry Nance and Randle are better :mjlol:

:francis: Looks like Luke and his awful rotations is starting to lose the team. We should fire him and hire Fizdale but we won't
