It's a contrarian opinion and I love Baduizm :umad:
if you love baduizm, then why would it confuse you that others who love the album would choose it over miseducation :jbhmm:

try hard ass nikka. thread is simple, which album you rolling with, nothing more nothing less....yet those choosing badu are contrarian :rudy: :stop:

This right here, but you can't blame nobody. Who was really checking for either unless you was listening to the radio or your girl put you on one :manny:.

I wasn't actively trying to hear either until after the fact and understood the error of my ways.
yall need to stop with this silly shyt, don't know when it started and i understand men feel more masculine listening to men rap in tights these days as opposed to listening to a woman sing, but men used to listen to r&b, female r&b at that. stop acting brand new

:russ: just not you judging by impact of both albums. The radio played damn good music until the early 2000s.... so why wouldn't you be listening to the radio in '96-98? :dahell:

You never heard of the Fugees? You never heard Lauryn rap? You weren't interested to see what she'd do on a solo? On & On wasn't a dope fukkin single? Or were you just too young?

my bad, nuance is important, I should've said that beyond radio play I didn't realise the impact of either.

of course everybody heard Fugees, the singles for both, and the emerging neo soul, but what we didn't do was check the album until after the fact.

that was the post where I, and my circle to a certain extent, was lax about. Nowadays I'm a little more observant.

Miseducation was lightning in a bottle. It was a debut album from an ex member of popular better than average hip hop group. Oh and btw she had just turned 20. How high could the expectations have possibly been? How many times does that work out? Going solo

Well that album is a certified classic probably top 10 GOAT. It's been literally enshrined

It's crazy how goddesses like Beyonce who are certified legends in music and been in the business for 20 years still haven't had anything close to that level quality of an entire album.

Plus R&B back then had way stronger competition. I would have probably been checkin for Aaliyah, TLC and Destiny's Child like I did back then when I was 8.
