Yeah I expect the ones who have very American sounding last names to be Americo-Liberian.Typically if you ever see a liberian with the last name Tolbert or Freeman Good chance they are americo liberia. I think johnson is another last name that was common amongst them.
I didn't know this. You also have a decent number of Liberians with German ancesty too like the current President Sirleaf.
I believe Mande slaves were good with rice cultivating and so they were needed in the Carolinas which mostly produced rice.Alot of the Mande slaves went to the Carolinas i believe and then of course south america. From a liberia perspective the winward coast had the least amount of slaves come to the new world.
I know the Kru tribe is the main tribe that played a role in slavery but it was more so them working on ships because they were skilled at sea navigation. I believe they actually fought against europeans initially.
Most people think my mom is from the islands when they meet her.
If i posted pics of my fam you couldnt really tell where we were from.

Anyways, here is a Americo-Liberian wedding.

Do Americo-Liberians have a certain accent? You cant go off the names all the times because many indiginous people gave themselves American names so they wouldnt be discriminated against or they may have been taken in by a family of Americo Liberians so legally you take the name of the family that takes you in since they tend to pay for you to go to school and stuff like that. So it really depends but chances are when you meet a liberian they arent gonna be an Americo Liberian.

All Liberians have the same accent because Americans introduced english so "Liberian English" is a mix of American South venacular , carribean venacular, and indiginous stuff.
America liberians were less than 3 or 5 % of population if i remember correctly so their influence was only big because they controlled the coast and of course the coast is where the West invested in.

I will say this, the last few years or so, I've been finding our women attractive, especially compared to other countries
Since this period, I've gone on to date two of them, which didn't last because Lib girls can be very loud breh. Especially the ones that came straight from the country side. Liberian girls that were born or raised here is where it's at. One thing I like about them is they are the least to bedwench out of the West African countries I feel. Also when it come to ass and shape, they are up there. God damn. To think that I could have been having Liberian p*ssy thrown at me since I was 10 and taking it for granted because I was too Americanized and was chasing light skin black American p*ssy. I think it's because I couldn't stand my loud ass female family members and wanted no parts that reminded me of them. But I have yet to see an out and out ugly Liberian female born and raised here.
9.5-10 for me dogg. Yall fight me
