See, now I'm actually interested in it.

EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures has been building up its franchises quickly, and now I’m hearing that Bad Boys 3 is looking like a strong possibility to get going. Safe House scribe David Guggenheim wrote a strong draft that now has Joe Carnahan in early talks to do a quick pass to possibly direct. I’m hearing this is all moving quickly as the studio wants to have the movie for Will Smith to consider as his next slot after Suicide Squad. Smith starred in the first two high action films with Martin Lawrence. Michael Bay directed the first two films. Carnahan certainly has that combustible style that goes with the franchise. He last directed the superb thriller The Grey. Stay tuned.

Good move for them to have this ready for Will right after he's done with suicide squad and also great move to get Carnahan on board

joe carnahan is good director but it wont be thr dame without michael bay's aesthetic

I kinda feel like it'd be better. probably something more akin to the first one than the 2nd one. Michael Bay's current aesthetic is so far removed from anything tangible or human now lol. I'm curious as to how he's going to do this Benghazi movie

Honestly don't get why there haven't been atleast 6 of these made already :yeshrug:

Even if it was too long Bad Boys 2 was a top tier action joint and the first one was a grade A buddy cop movie

Because initially, the only way they'd do it is if Bay was involved as director, at least that's what Martin and Will said. Where has Bay been for the past almost 10 years breh? Cybertron. Now I guess Sony realized Bay wasn't going to come back and I'm assuming they're hoping they can convince Will to come on board even if Bay isn't involved.

Will prob is looking at getting another guranteed blockbuster under his belt, I don't think his last few movies have done well.

He said his focus is different now (yeah, I see it) and that he's really not worried about the number 1 box office shyt anymore. He wants to make interesting stuff and go outside of his box, which is why he's doing the concussion movie and why he signed on to suicide squad which, if a hit, will be a big franchise for him

I guess you haven't watched 2013's "Pain & Gain"?

You guess wrong breh. I still stand by my statement. I like the movie but I think there's something about it and its characters that fit Bay now and I don't know if his aesthetic is something I'm interested in seeing again. Even Pain and Gain shared a lot of similarities with the transformers movies. The only thing it shared in common with bad boys was the setting but it looked more like transformers than bad boys 1 or 2 and his detachment from the main characters was the same also. The beauty of pain and gain is that it was all about appearances and facades and superficiality, which seems perfect for his style right now as opposed to bad boys which still has some semblance of character and character development with this relationship between marcus and mike.
