The main goal is to get under the 2nd apron next year which is 207.8 million. Unfortunately I think the odd man out is Jrue who is set to make 32.4 mil next year. Tillman will be traded based on him not getting any minutes. Walsh might be let go if the team believes he hasn't made progress. Without Holiday and Tillman we are at 190.6 million. So that's 16 to 17 million to to barely get under 2nd apron and re-sign our free agents and draft picks.
Horford, Kornet, Craig, Peterson, Davison, Miles Norris are the Free Agents. If Al retires I think Kornet might re-sign.

Wouldn't Hauser and Tillman getting traded get the team under the cap?

We are currently set to be $17 mil over the 2nd apron next season, and that's with 11 players under contract. League minimum I believe for opening night is 13 and 14 by the end of the season

Hauser & Tillman combined are only making around $12.5 mil next season so while salary dumping them can theoretically lower payroll it alone isn't enough. Truthfully I don't see a realistic way they get under the 2nd apron next season without salary dumping Jrue or Porzingis.

Maybe you can salary dump Pritchard too but even with dumping the 3 still you'd have to fill 5-6 roster spots so you have to account for that. Also worth mentioning that right now Brooklyn is the only team projected to have enough cap space to absorb Jrue or KP's contracts straight up this summer, but of course teams can always make moves to create space.

Stevens and the acct team will have to work some magic. But that's for this summer, winning a chip is first priority

It hurt me to come to grips that Jrue or Porzingis might be gone. But Hauser and Tillman don't make enough.

Damn, ok. shyt sucks. But to honest, if I had to pick I would let go of Jrue. Love them both, but Jrue's age, salary, and being a 5th option sort of makes him the odd man out

You just CAN'T let go of a guy like Porzingis. He raises your ceiling so much, and he has so much chemistry with Jayson and Jaylen on top of that. I feel Jrue might be more expendable because you can get cheaper options with similar production for a shooting guard/small forward on the market

I’m pretty sure Wyc & Stevens knew the window was gonna be short to keep this core together. We get one last shot before have to make some rough decisions :manny:

Tillman never plays, but when he finally plays they run that pick and pop 3 action for him that they run for Al. He is not a 3 point shooter Joe. Put him in a position to succeed.

I'm wondering why Joe doesn't run plays for him like he does for Luke Kornet. Tillman is a decent passer and can roll to the basket

I don’t ever want to se Xavier Tillman play another second in a Celtics uniform.

JRUE HOLIDAY IS BACK!

I think Joe should try to play Tillman in that Luke Kornet role where he's rolling to the basket more. At least he was decent rebounding tonight

I'm trying here lol

I don't know why they decided to try sticking him out on the three like he's a threat. It reminds me of when Brad used to put Theis out there.

26/9 off the bench for Old Man Al :wow:
18/7/6 for Jrue :ehh:
25/14 for JT on a slow night :sas1:

Most importantly, 6-0 on the West conference road trip :blessed:

Celtics are peaking at the right time
