He was not a favorite character of mine and I was perfectly fine with him being replaced after one season but I am sad to hear dude is dead.
I absolutely love both B5 and DS9 but I have to give DS9 the nod just because I connected with the characters more.
Odo, Sisko, Bashir, Quark, heck....the whole crew >>>>>
Loving the show. Its amazing how well it held up. When I was a child I would see it on TV and think "what is this weird ass shyt? When does hercules start?" Not knowing that 18 years later I would be so engrossed appreciative of its greatness.
Your gimmick is so fukking annoyingTo think, if he started taking Brazillian jiujitsu at a younger age, he'd still be with us today.
Gimmick? This is me like the man in the mirror. We should promote healthy activities and healthy diets friend. Pork, overeating of beef and a lack of proper cardiovascular training is one of the biggest killers in America, friend. Lets be wise and learn these lessons because heart attacks, from what i hear, hurt, friend.Your gimmick is so fukking annoying
Odo, Quark >>>>>
Odo & Quark are hilarious. Both of them got jokes for days.
I wrote an extensive review of DS9 on my blog. I'd like to hear what you guys think of it.
@Versa @Jello Biafra
I'm not gonna tolerate the DS9 slander in here.
DS9 was a great show and had, for the most part, better characters than B5. Garak was my favorite character. But it also suffered from the classic Trek fault of character shields and technobabble.
That B5 arc...
The way it all came together...
The consistently good writing once the 2nd half of Season 2 started.
All of Seasons 3 and 4...
The technology gap between younger and older races...
When Sheridan got pissed off ...
GOAT show (if you can make it past season 1).
What do you mean by character shields? Use examples from earlier seasons if you don't mind since I have two and a half seasons left and don't want things spoiled.
Character shields like... there's no way any one of the main chars is going to be seriously injured or killed, barring a breakdown of contract negotiations. Also known as "Redshirt syndrome".
In B5, when it was your time to die, you died.
yah in B5 nobody'ssafe
your favorite characters will get put in situations where they're literally teetering off the edge of a precipice. a few characters will fall off and for the ones who don't they lose something in themselves. you will definitely get emotional in some episodes.

even if someone accidentally spoiled it for you, it wouldn't detract from the enjoyment of the show. B5's plot puts DS9's flimsy ass arcs to shame.
@BlvdBrawler
Are there any good sci fi shows of B5's ilk that are dope?
right now it's a toss up between star trek tos, earth final conflict & firefly. i was going to watch star trek voy, but i think i'll wait a bit, because a lot of folks say it isn't that good.
None as grand in scope or consistently as good.
Stargate SG-1 was good. Atlantis was pretty good too, and SG: Universe had incredible potential but it got cancelled (but the 2nd half of Season 2 was as good as B5 season 4, imo). I think you'll enjoy them.
BattleStar Galactica was a VERY good show, but the last season was cockjuice and almost ruined the series for me.
Voyager was watchable, but after DS9's greatness, it was very disappointing. I never watched Enterprise.
Personally, I hated Earth: Final Conflict after season 2. It just seemed like the writers had no idea where they wanted to go and there was never a consistent character roster.
Firefly was great, but way too short.
Heard good things about Farscape, but never watched it myself.
Game of Thrones is the only show I'd say is as good / better than B5.
