This is like someone putting spikes and mines on the field after they've played then asking why nobody wants to step on to the field.

They are reaping what they've sown. They should have taken environmental protection seriously. They didn't. They should have harshly punished monopoly attempts. They didn't. They should have at the very least kept tax rates at what they were. They didn't.

At every turn where they could have done something to protect the future and create a world people would actually feel responsible for and would want to improve, they chose to put their own interests and desires first. And now they want to gaslight adults who are saying "I can't see any reason why I should choose to struggle more than I currently am" into being miserable.

The narcissism of boomers created an apathetic and cynical generation who didn't care about anything anymore and actively made fun of you if you did(Gen X) who then encouraged cynicism in millennial people. Now Gen Z is split up into people who want to squeeze the last ounces of wealth still around(largely by scamming everyone) or have just given up and try to manage what little they have.

Actions have consequences and the silver lining is that the kids growing up under millennial parents who actually planned to have them are growing up in homes where the parents are prioritizing those kids being stable, normal, and happy. They're giving their children the lives they deserve. They think their children will be part of a movement that will turn things around and are trying to set them up the best they can to make that dream a reality. I genuinely wish them the best.

For the majority of people who are deciding not to have children, I think that may change if drastic action is taken on climate, housing, Job security and overall peace and safety both domestically and internationally. People are smart enough to know when they're being lied to by people in power and the decentralization of media has allowed people to see footage or hear audio that directly contradicts the lies they're being fed. Look at what happened in 2020 with George Floyd. If smartphones were not recording them, the general public would've accepted the prepared statement the police would've given to the media. Instead we saw worldwide protests at the blatant abuse of power and attempt at covering it up.

Ain't that the fukking truth.

Gen Y the last gen that will try to do things right and correct the course. Gen X too busy being selfish and Gen Z just chases clout on social media all damn day. There was a study on how more people of Gen Y want to go to politics and try to set things right than Gen X who are apathetic and still believe that its up to the elderly Baby Boomers to still guide the country.

Career women establishing their careers in their mid 30's then spending several years dealing with the wrong Men or having an extended Hot girl summer then trying to have an opps baby or freezing their eggs in the 40's even if they have a kid that usually only one, rare is the women who wants to have a church of kids, so even women who do that means a 50% reduction and add in accidents and incels and it's easy for the population to fall off a cliff.

What saved ADOS back in the day was girls having opps babies in high school. oNce they solved that problem you move closer toward a South Korean model.

First of all he didn't do anything that billions of other people did when they were oppressed.

I have four other adult siblings. The youngest just made it to 30. We all middle to upper middle class in income and lifestyle. None of us have children. Parents are showing some very early signs of sadness.

I have three other first cousins and only one has children. Just had his second who is a year apart from his first (two boys 1yo and 2yo). He's saying he's done though.

Out of a generation of eight millennial adults in my immediate family, only one has kids. The two babies are the only ones in our family younger than 29 years old.

Yea “OOPS BABIES” are a problem and burden for single mothers. What SHOULD be happening is young black men getting into trades and/or university and establishing themselves so they are ready to propose and have families by their late 20s early 30s, and young women should be holding out and waiting to have children with a responsible guy. HS girls shouldn’t be having oops babies OUT OF WEDLOCK. They should be pairing up with capable men when they’re a little older.

ANYWAY.

Marriage and family need to be encouraged and supported by society. There’s a reason why a lot of young women are holding off/pushing back on marriage and it isn’t all about “hot girl summer” etc. This isn’t about the party girls.
