To who? And for what? What would make it acceptable? If Pop brought them over, started them, got the tip and called the time out or let them score and called a time out, would that be acceptable to you? Technically, they would have played, right?

I'm speaking in general..I don't think many people appreciate top teams "resting" their best players with 67 games still to be played in the season.
What's there to rest???..you just started playing a month ago.

Imagine a fancy restaurant promoting your fav food/meal....so you go there with a look like :krs:, just waiting to :eat: well..only to have the waiter tell you "Nah sorry, what you're asking for is not available today, come back next Tuesday"

Baseball is a different sport..that comparison doesn't go breh.

Shiit is corny period..I'm glad Stern told that niqqa ..this L might cost him and his team HCA at the end of the year too.

At worst, you can be upset at false advertising if they didn't sell that food anyway. Otherwise it's just inconvenient, just like this was.. In this case, the Spurs were in Miami. A game was played. Popovich is not obligated to use specific players. Both sides lived up to their "contract" so to speak. Unlike in a restaurant where I can pick whatever the hell I want as a consumer, I can't just say "just give me Tim Duncan, Manu, and Parker" or "Duncan, Manu, and Parker must be there" As long as the Spurs are there they lived up to their end.

Again, the L is something Pop is willing to live with if it means having a preserved squad later. Every game counts just the same. The L at the end of the year resting guys against the Raptors or Pistons could cost them as well. If that's the way he wants to go about things and it doesn't piss off the owner (because really that's the guy he should be answering to), then that's how it'll be done. The players willingly did this as well. Is there a cutoff point you prefer where it's OK to start resting guys? Is there a minimum amount of minutes you want?

bu bu bu bu exactly..your shiit is agenda driven..my point is very simple..stop using having a "tough" schedule as an excuse..every team goes through it.

you dont see other teams rest their best players in fukkin november do you?..I could understand if we were 70 games deep..but this lame ass strategy by pop has to be punished. I hate stern but he has a point here.

Do you know how CORNY it looks to "rest" your players 15 games into the season..against the defending champs of all teams.

:heh:

You just hate the Spurs. If you can't wrap your head around resting your older players (I don't know why Green was out though) so they could be fresh for a homestand, then YOU'RE the one with an agenda.

Reggie did bring up something interesting during the game. I'm AMAZED that a guy like Tony Parker, who is young and healthy and an "elite" player, goes along with shyt like this. Where's the competitive nature? Imagine Phil telling Mike to just sit a game out when he's not even injured. Or somebody telling Kobe to just take a seat. Or somebody telling Iverson to just chill during the beginning of the year.
