Miami Heat 2013 Schedule - Heat Home and Away - ESPN

Peep the HEAT's first half of November schedule..nobody said shiit when they were on their 10th game in two weeks..and also 4 road games in 5 nights.

People need to stop being sheep..yes he has the right do whatever he wants with his team..but EVERY team goes through a rough schedule at some point in the season..stop with the lame excuses.

:skip:

What point are you trying to make? Nobody said shyt because those teams didn't sit their players and likely b/c those teams had similar schedules. I'm not about to look up how many games all of those teams played in a certain timespan, but unless those teams hadn't played in 5 days while the Heat were in the midst of the 4 games in 5 nights stand, your point is ehhh.

We're not sheep because we see that it's logical of the Spurs to plan to be 100% for the Grizzlies, a fellow top Western Conference opponent, instead of playing full-strength to a team that's 100% rested and been chillin' for an entire workweek.

bu bu bu bu exactly..your shiit is agenda driven..my point is very simple..stop using having a "tough" schedule as an excuse..every team goes through it.

you dont see other teams rest their best players in fukkin november do you?..I could understand if we were 70 games deep..but this lame ass strategy by pop has to be punished. I hate stern but he has a point here.

Do you know how CORNY it looks to "rest" your players 15 games into the season..against the defending champs of all teams.

I don't understand how they think they can determine who he plays on his roster.

There are DNP - Coach's Decisions every night B

T'Wolves gonna get sanctioned for not playing The Caged Lion? :weready:

Popovich does this all the time, I don't know why the fukk people care. It's the 4th game in 5 nights, it's a tough road game they have a good chance of losing anyway, why not just use it as a chance to rest the guys?

People say he should do it against shytty teams but why lose a game they could easily win? People say he should alternate who he sits but why should he play 4 games shorthanded instead of just 1? It's a smart move and people are just :umad:

Stern can go ahead and promise to punish this kind of thing but what is he going to do late in the year when everyone else is doing it too? All teams do this, Popovich is just ahead of his time.

That pretty much sums it up.

If the game wasn't on TV nobody would give a damn anyway. I do think it's weird that Danny Green was setting out though like he's 32 or something.

Coach Pop has been doing this for like 3 years now, I guess Stern is pissed because its a nationally televised game and it was against the Heat

smh at the most model franchise in NBA history of the last 15 years being sanctioned, i guess we should have a bunch of thugs and it would be ok

god i hate the spurs, but i respect pop for doing that.

His key players are old as fukk, no need to take a risk to lose one of them at this time of the season

What difference would it make? Pop has no obligation to play specific players at specific times. No team does. It doesn't matter if it was the Heat or the Wizards. I'm not guaranteed to see any particular player when I tune in or pay for tickets.

The difference is that to rest the best players after a grueling season is much more understandable and acceptable..after 15 games played its not.
Pop wouldnt rest his players if they had a 7-8 record.

Also people tune in to see the best players compete..no disrespect to their bench..I'm maybe old school tho...all this new player pampering goin on is not a good look.

To who? And for what? What would make it acceptable? If Pop brought them over, started them, got the tip and called the time out or let them score and called a time out, would that be acceptable to you? Technically, they would have played, right?

I watch baseball all the time. It's really nothing new. There's always some players that manage to play every inning of every game, but any given day you can go to the ballpark and not expect the star players there. If he thinks that resting players preserves them for later on in the season, then that's cool. If his owner feels that way, then that's cool. They lost a game last night that they could have won. Ultimately that is the consequence Pop is willing to deal with.

In fairness to Stern (and I think he's in the wrong on this), it creates one problem, and not even for the good teams. It gives "tanking" teams every excuse to not play any good player they have if it means losing the game to try to get a higher pick. The only counters are that 1. they do it anyway and 2. they were losing anyway.

some people buy tickets to watch a certain superstar but its always a gamble when you buy a ticket to see a game.

you don't know if a certain superstar is going to play that night or not.

Stern and Pop probably got personal problems from way back and he ain't man enough to bring it to him directly. Since he knows he's out the door he gonna start being catty with some of these Coaches and GMs
