She got signed after a bidding war, Nicki was blowing up, EDM shyt hadn't totally gotten to where it is now but everyone could see where music was going...and then things just stopped for her. She's a pos behind the scenes apparently, blames her failures on anyone who helps her, and in general seems to have emotional problems. She's really talented and has some good songs, but is too much of a hassle to deal with.

Labels been looking for a white female rapper for awhile tho. Every now and then we get a flash in the pan who disappears (Kreshean). I think Iggy's next album could be really big, but overall I don't think she's really the "next" big thing. That's just my opinion though. I would have never guessed Fancy would blow up like it did.

My general view is that whenever it seems like the market is missing something...a label is somewhere working with an artist behind the scenes, trying to make them the next big thing. Somewhere there's a white female rapper being groomed.

Azealia got tons of talent, can spit/flow and had her own little niche with the ear for house music beats that 99.9% of emcees wouldn't even try to touch. Even without an album she coulda jumped on a hot house record and have that shyt bubble up in the UK club scene and then have it cross over to the US. She could do club dates/tour and eat good off of the summer festival season. I KNOW that tons of house/funky house/soulful house producers would been falling over each other to get her on tracks and she blew it by beefing with Perez and Angel Haze in particular. Both of them are gay and that beef shyt put her on the wrong radar and it was down hill from there.

no one cared about her beefing with Jim Jones or the ASAP crew because them cats is all dusty and regional in the grand scheme of things, but when she came at Pharrell during the beginning of the "Happy" wave, you knew this broad was finished. Nicki might (in some way) be her competition but Nicki toned down the attitude and bullshyt QUICKLY because she wants to sell clothes/perfume/do movies and merch. Nicki knows how to separate her pop audience but knows how to turn it on with that gutta shyt like at SummerJam recently.
