I would happily welcome the Gobert deal (assuming it doesnt include Pat, and is like Vuce, Coby & 18) and Ill be the first to say it

  • I will respect the aggression most of all. It just will be a continuation of AKME proving they can pull off moves big market teams should pull off.
  • It will make us a better team (in the regular season at least lol) - I have the same worries as everyone else in the playoffs, but from the perspective of someone that watches all 82 games, I place an importance on winning 55 games in the regular season from a pure entertainment/fan angle
  • Coby isnt the in the teams future regardless, no huge loss there
  • Rudy in a lineup with Zo/Caruso/Pat at the same time will be top 5 defensively

One thing I hate about the move - it seems like people around the league dont respect Rudy, so that doesnt really help us attract more big names down the line

It's pros and cons def there with Rudy. I do think the pros outweigh the cons. With Rudy we raise the defensive metrics of the team almost across the board. With a solid rim protector it helps lavine and derozan on the backside once they are beat.

It will also allow us to feature Patrick Williams more in the offense, which at this time its now or never on the pwill front. Year 3 we need to start seeing good player emerging. Especially with the way ayo came in and showed immediate signs he was a keeper
:wow:AKME getting to it
Strange watching a front office in a big sports market operate like a front office in a big sport market lol

Marc Stein connecting us to Gobert as well

regardless if we get Gobert, I think this is a good sign that AKME are very active in talks around the league and not sitting on their ass patting their back for a playoff appearance like we know a past regime would have

Don't know how reliable those sources are.

Would much rather take my chances trying to sign a Mo Bamba or Mitchell Robinson with the MLE over yet again giving up assets like they’re just Halloween candy to another team for a big going into his 30s with a ridiculously bloated contract …. As a player I like Rudy I think his defensive impact is real ..but if they want the bulls to take that contract it better not be with any first rounders attached aside from this years and the players going back need to be minimal outside of salary matching

There’s a difference between being “aggressive” as a GM and being reckless …producing a bunch of sizzle that doesn’t turn into substance isn’t praiseworthy .. the Initial Vucc trade has clearly proven itself as a moronic knee jerk reckless move and a lot of the continued faith in AKME is going to come down to how/if they handle this Gobert trade … another overpay for a 30 year old one sided center and they’re no different than the rest of the mediocre execs …but I don’t anything happens either way as Reinsdorf is notoriously frugal when it comes to paying the Luxury Tax.
