He doesn't protect the rim
He stinks defending the pick and roll
He can't post smaller defenders

However he does have streaks where his shooting can be elite and you will enjoy those times we used to call him "febulauri" because that seemed to be the time his shooting would pick up.

he doesnt really suck, hes a decent player. Boylen years really fukked up his development IMO

his shooting can be great for his size and he has some ability to put the ball on the floor and attack the rim with a stagger step floater type shot hes developed
he gets killed on perimeter switches and doesnt offer much rim protection or post defense - so his defense is a big net negative

overall hes not a trash player or anything, he can help a team

If Lauri stays healthy then he’s a body worth having on the team. He could have probably benefited this year on the bulls team and he’s one of those dudes who will probably shine in better situations on different teams. But Cleveland a worst case scenario if you ask me.


Sure he could probably put up some decent numbers this year. But Cleveland is one of those nba teams where you go and a majority of people forget you exist.


So basically he’s in the shadow realm

Laurie isn't total garbage. He is a decent shooter/scorer....he can help if hes your 4th or 5th best player

Problem in chicago is that he was drafted to be a #2

He is too limited to be a major contributor.....no passing, no defense, meh rebounding....doesnt use his size effectively...plays like he is 6'6"
