I haven't seen a single Oscar bait movie this year. I only watch the leaks. I'd never waste $10-20 going to see something like Manchester by the Sea in a theater.

I think I'm unqualified to speak in this thread, b/c Popstar was legit my favorite movie I saw in 2016.

Loving is running out of steam already lol. I thought it would be everywhere by now but the buzz has been going since the film festivals ended. I haven't seen Girl on the Train but I've been told it was decent.

IMO, its between Fences, Manchester and LaLaLand. I still think Stone is the front runner.

Decent would be the word to describe it. In no way should this movie or any performance in it be nominated for anything.

It's between Moonlight and La La Land. I'd say Manchester is 3rd.

At this point, I'd be genuinely surprised if anything other than La La Land won Best Picture

Was that "Run Train on a Girl" movie with Emily Blunt any good? I remember it came out the same weekend as BOAN, but it got less buzz that weekend despite making more money. That movie came & went.

First time your sig has ever had nothing but 7s and higher. I'd say the year ended quite strongly after a summer of shyt

Definitely recused the year. Though I haven't given anything a 10 this year. Arrival is close though.

LaLaLand is definitely the safe pick, its a monument to hollywood. really. I wish Loving had done better, but the buzz died after TIFF.

Arrival is nice but I thought maybe it could have been a little more.

I said it would be this year's The Artist because it was a feel good movie that reinforces the Hollywood status quo and offers no controversy.
Didn't say it would be forgotten by everyone though.

I wasn't talking about you breh I've heard it on many podcasts.

Is this gonna be the official thread for the nominations or is someone gonna make a new one in the morning?
