Wouldn't be surprised if La La Land broke the most oscars in one night record with 12 or 13 awards

I doubt it, at best it can tie with Titanic and Return Of The King. It's nominated for 14 Oscars but two nominations are in the same category (Original song) so it can only win 13 by default. Right now it doesn't look like Gosling will take Affleck in the Best Actor category, which would leave it at 12, assuming that Emma Stone can win in the crowded Best Actress category. It would then have to win everything else too which is entirely possible since the Academy loves celebrating itself but realistically it should not.

I just watched Manchester and I don't see what's so special about Affleck's performance. Denzel was way more impressive in Fences. Haven't seen the other nominees yet.

ABC announced today it will broadcast an Oscars After Party, live, immediately following the 89th Oscars on Sunday, February 26.

“Live from Hollywood: The After Party” is a one-hour special hosted by “Black-ish” star Anthony Anderson. The Emmy-nominated actor will be joined by “Good Morning America” Co-Anchor Lara Spencer, with special contributors Joe Zee, Yahoo Style’s editor-in-chief, and ABC News’ Chris Connelly. The star-studded special features red-carpet interviews with celebrities outside The Governor’s Ball, one of Hollywood’s most prestigious parties. It will also include backstage interviews with the night’s big winners.

Anderson is no stranger to hosting televised awards ceremonies; he’s hosted (or co-hosted) the BET Awards at least twice, the NAACP Image Awards at least 3 times, the Soul Train Awards, the Annual Trumpet Awards and a few more. So he certainly has the experience. So why not host the Oscars at some point? Especially as his industry profile is maybe higher than it’s ever been, thanks in large part to the success of “Black-ish” and his Emmy recognition, as well as his now being selected to host the first-ever live post Oscar special for the network that airs the Oscars.

The 89th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST. The Oscars, produced by De Luca and Todd and hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, also will be televised in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide. Additionally, “The Oscars: All Access” live stream from the red carpet and backstage will begin at 7 p.m. EST/4 p.m. PST on Oscar.com.

“Live From Hollywood: The After Party” will be produced by ABC’s Lincoln Square Productions. Brian Teta and Marc Burstein are executive producers.

If Jeff Bridges wins best supporting I'll be shocked. Having seen Moonlight, Lion, Nocturnal Animals and Hell or High Water he is by far the weakest nom. Still need to see Manchester by the Sea
