Forgot this shyt existed. I keep meaning to play PoE to prepare me for it and I keep struggling because that shyt is boring. :mjlol:

@42 Monks didn't you play PoE? Sell me on it. By the way I like most other cRPGs I've played. Should I skip to 2 if I do plan to play?

I played PoE….its kinda dry

it started out really cool with you getting the powers and then passing by the tree all the people hung up like christmas lights. It gave me early witcher 3 vibes and i swore it was gonna be fun. Then the endless backtracking and loading screens, and the story was just moving at a snails pace.

I also didn't like the RTS of it with so many party members but i think they added a turn based option in later on which i would have greatly appreciated.

I also didn't like the dice rolls for the story segments.

Pillars of Eternity 1 is a solid RPG. Its a bit dated in some ways, but it nails the stuff that has to be in order for it to be a good game.

Pillars of Eternity 2 is damned good. I honestly never finished PoE1, but thankfully the story telling allows anyone that isn't dumb to play catchup pretty quick to understand what's going on and make decisions going forward. Not getting to play 1 definitely takes some of the wind out of the sails though. You can skip 1 still, but just a heads up.

Right now, I've actually been deep into Pathfinder: Wrath of The Righteous and honestly its my RPG of the year so far and nothing else is even close. I actually never even liked the Pathfinder series before, but this its writing, depth of combat, attention to detail is all grade A stuff - even in spite of the crusade mode strat layer stuff.

If you missed out on Tyranny, definitely give that a run too btw

I played and beat Pathfinder Kingmaker (really good but hard) but wanted to wait on PotR because it's unfinished rn.

Sounds like I should skip PoE1 then. I'll try it out. :ehh:
