Avengers was the most entertaining film I've seen this year and I'm a Batman stan myself.

I don't compare the two movies though. One is a team up to save the world movie while the other is about a broken guy struggling to save his city.

TDKR and ASM had a better story which made me wanna go back to re-watch both movies. Even though I was entertained by Avengers, I didn't get the urge want to see it again.

I just watched the avengers on a plane. And honestly the last 45 mins with the action is what made the movie. To me it doesn't have any real replay outside of the action scenes. That was some of the best action in a movie since matrix

I loved Avengers dearly, but DKR was on a completely different level.

Avengers is more of a simple man's movie. Lots of bright lights, action, simple man's plot, colorful, awesome superheros, witty and comic-like lines.

The Dark Knight is is more of a complex man's movie. Deep plot starring a character that had 3 movies to fully develop, brilliant script, fight scenes were further in between but epic, gritty and felt more like something was on the line, some of the greatest quotes in movie history.....

I'll remember some of the shyt Bane and Batman said in TDKR for the rest of my life. I don't feel the same about Avengers....all I remember is "Puny god..." and "We have a HULK!"

Also TDKR was far more high stakes....people LEGITIMATELY felt Batman could die. More was on the line. Despite Avengers being more of a "fight for the planet" type of situation, there was never a time where you said "Jeez....Thor might not make it."

At the end of the day, I give Avengers a A- and TDKR a A+...for I am a complex man and TDKR suits my taste more. I predicted nikkas whose attention spans and simpleton ways of thinking and observing entertainment wouldn't appreciate TDKR's 2 hour and 45 minute brilliance and would make a crazy topic like this though.

I'd preferred Avengers. TDKR was a jumbled mess IMO. I never once looked at my watch during avengers I did it about 4-5 times with TDKR wondering when it would end.

I loved both movies and seen them both multiple times at the theaters and I also don't really like to compare them, as I feel they're just a broad range of different. However, when I do compare them, what you said is pretty much how I feel.

The way I feel is that of you aren't as invested in the characters and the movies preceding them to make these current ones what they are or are one that's typically less invested in these type of movies or movies in general, I can see one liking Avengers better. If you're jut the opposite, then you'll most likely favor TDKR.

I agree with the thread title. I liked dark Knight rises and think I got my moneys worth out my movie ticket...but avengers blew it out. Nolan fixtures are trying hard to make that movie out to be much better than it actually was.

Aside from Nolan butchering the source material, the overall pace was boring as hell most of the movie

You'd be taken more seriously if you haven't been hell bent on convincing us how TDKR wasn't a good movie since release. I doubt your hate is even about the movie anymore...

TDKR was solid, but nothing "complex" or brilliant about it. It was another good action movie with another cliche happy Hollywood ending. And I think both are too different to compare honestly but they both good.
