As far as the movie, I thought it was ok. Wasn't a huge fan and I preferred "Infinity War" far more.

But both were a :wow: theater experience. If you watched either of those movies at home it's an L.

That shyt was legit like being at the Super Bowl, crowd was going fukking crazy opening night.

Fred.
Yes, best theater experience of my life. It's not even close.

Only thing comparable, but on the opposite end of the spectrum as far as crowd reaction, was "The Mist".

For some inexplicable reason....possibly because horror movies are traditionally "date night movies", I dunno....there was a gang of couples at that movie.
Afterwards, the whole lobby was filled with crying women talking about :mjcry:"why the fukk did you take me to see this?"....with the men looking around with their hands in their pockets like :francis:

here come the contrarian thread and post. Movie was damn good

Movie is great when viewed in proper context.

I remember reading how it was going to be part 1 and 2 title wise but they switched it up for some reason like it was too cliche. But I think had they gone that route people would be less inclined to judge it as a stand alone film rather than a second half of the amazing IW.

Not to say it's flawless and that you can't be a dikk and isolate that experience for arguments sake but they were meant to be watched as a body of work.

I watched Matrix revolutions last night, I know a lot of people are sour on The Matrix 2 and 3, the latter more so but I love all three films. I'm thinking to myself, having to wait a year or two to jump back into the 2nd part of this story was way less enjoyable than just chunking it all together at my leisure.

Phase 4 been crack so far.

Hell, the Strange ep of "What If?" from like a month ago is better than 90% of the MCU that came before it.

Fred.
That Strange episode was good.
Strong disagree on everything else.

You didn't like any of the other Disney+ shows either? :gucci:

Not trying to press you :hubie: it's your opinion but I thought they were all at least as good, and in some cases better, than most of what came before them.

I didn't really like "Black Widow" and I haven't seen "Shang Chi" so I can't speak on it.

The infinity saga, to me, felt like they had a story they wanted to tell. Now it feels like they have a quota they need to meet.

Payoff was worth it after so long and I’m not even a comic head :manny:

I will say, after that movie I’ve basically lost
Interest in the MCU :manny:

I’ll watch Spider-Man and doctor strange but I’m not as invested as before
That's exactly where I stand. Got no use for the MCU anymore.

I feel like the multiverse is a great pivot but as far as what you're saying....that's just inherent to comic book arcs in general.

There is always a major "game changing" arc then afterwards there's a lull until the next arc. "Infinity War", "Days Of Future Past", "X-Tinction Agenda", "X-ecutioner's Song", etc.

DC too but I was never a big fan of DC comics so I can't readily name a bunch of their comic arcs.

But it's just the nature of the beast, for better or worse.
