I'm old enough to remember when the reports came out about Titanic that it was too expensive, studios forced him to shut it down and finally Cameron had to give them his share of box office profits so he can complete it. They said the movie was going to sink just like the real Titanic. They said the same shyt about the first Avatar that it was look shaky. Terminator 2 was too expensive. Aliens couldn't live up to Alien.

I'm skeptical but I will never bet against this man.
This is kind of how I feel. I won't bet against him either, but I'm skeptical this time. Even with the positive reception so far. It's obviously gonna debut #1 and make a ton of money, but I heard this has to make 2 billion to not lose what they invested to make it.

story >>>>>>> CGI

lotta shytty movies being made and ive done that with a lot of films this year

james cameron isnt reinventing the wheel :manny:
Bruh this movie is more of an event than people clamoring for an immersive story....the first one was boring as fukk when I watched it at home, but it is hands down the best experience I've ever had at a theater....

Not for this it ain't
Avatar is a save the environment story that's been told several times over, but seeing it in the best possible visual format is what made it stand out

its a dope movie but its too fukkin long. i dont get how nikkas acting like james cameron reinvented the wheel when the story is just Pocahontas in space:mjlol:
I never seen Pocahontas. Damn near every story has been told before. If that's the argument just stop watching movies and sports forever then. It's all happened before.

I just bought some 4DX tickets for my family and my godchildren (as an Xmas gift). It'll be our first 4DX experience ever. I hope the 4DX isn't somehow make the movie worse. I personally dislike 3D. Somehow it never really works for me. I feel somewhat cross eyed the whole time.

true but going to the theatres for the visual experience can be said about most films today regardless

my point is that CGI has a higher standard today and a lot of movies have done what James Cameron did (and better) but a lot of storytelling drops as well. Shows like Rings of Power is an example of how you can get a good balance of both, especially if you got the budget.

I wont count him out as a filmmaker tho cause Alita Battle Angel was dope af :ehh:

I feel like that would be mad distracting being bounced around while trying to look at all of the crazy details around you (assuming it's like the first one) would be mad annoying...
