i never understood the hype, someone explain why you think its so good?
It's more the theater experience. The Effects combined with the 3D. People who didn't like the 1st Avatar won't be interested. I would say those who may not have been huge fans of the 1st flick may still want to see how it looks in 3D on big screen. Cameron knows how to up the ante, my main gripe is the run time.

Imagine going to a 10:45pm showing and not getting out of the theater until 2:30am.

Almost booked the 10:45pm one for myself but then saw a comment quoting your post. Now that you mention it, it would have been a bad move :picard:

anyone see the OG Avatar recently? Watched last night in prep.. Some thoughts

- The story is as old as time.. true. But to me it's original enough so i really can't hate too much..

- Some of the cgi is still fantastic but some such as some of the animal scenes has aged noticeably.

- The action sequences are a strength. Not really on the level of T2 or Aliens but they are laid out nicely. Whole last hour is dope.

- Could have trimmed a couple of the hunt/learning scenes to get the run time down

- Pandora as a planet was well developed. i appreciate the landscapes/mountains and wildlife that are unique to Pandora. That was well thought out.

- Villains were cartoon characters. Served a purpose but could have been better

This looks dumb af, who was asking for another avatar movie? :gucci:
He trying to make like 5 or so more of them isn't he? It made a lot of money so of course there's a sequel but I wasn't really into the characters in the original film so there's not much here for me. Will likely watch when it's on Disney+.

Cameron made two GOAT sequels.

He understands that in a sequel you need to introduce new on screen technology from a technical standpoint.

I have no doubt this will blow the first movie out of the water :yeshrug:
Bro, i didn't watch the trailer but I know his track record. T2 was NOTHING like T1. It was ampppped up. He's got 3 more sequels lined up. It's going to be lit. I probably shouldn't keep hyping it. LOL. I'm setting myself up for disappointment.
