I never doubted you Big Jim :wow:

I don't want to single it out just for it's visuals but cot damn, that movie was beautiful. The interactions between humans and giant blue people were seamless. The raining scenes. The various animals. The night shots when they would glow underwater. At times watching I'd say to myself, is this what VFX artists can do if they're given enough time? Jim definitely played some of the hits (children involved in the action, rushing hallways of water, colonialism, claustrophobia) but it never felt boring. Long? Yes but it filled the space with just nature, spiritual bonding and just embracing the world of Pandora once again. I'm packing my bags now.

The last hour :noah:I can't wait for the Collider Crew to talk about this in full :banderas:

And many people don’t go to the movies anymore after Covid plus the rise of streaming. I know people who haven’t been since enforce the pandemic.
Well in order to get the 3d effect, you have to see it in the theaters. The 3d is the main draw. I saw the first one in theater, but not in 3d. So I wanted to make sure I got the full effect this time.

Something else I have to mention. They actually did the “strong female warrior” characters well. You understood their perspective, they remained like-able, kicked ass, and they didn’t have to brush aside all the men to do it.
Cameron has always been good at writing female heros. That's one of things his movies are most known for.

I thought the movie was dope definitely better than the first. Not going to lie the visuals were jaw dropping in the first couple of minutes I had to adjust. Dialogue is still spotty but I really liked the Navi Marines and expansion of the sully family and the world. Oh and whale breh was the MVP of the movie.

:ohhh:

Damn James with the Ether Again. He never misses on Part 2. People love to talk about "Cultural Impact" or "Relevance". The reality is this is a franchise that people do enjoy "Avatar" sequel just ran laps around everyone at the box office and it's actually behind the first one but these numbers are very good in this market. This franchise is so huge globally already. 4 Billion off two movies is crazy.
culture impact lol avatar had a whole avatar land in Disney world for the last ten years. Can’t doubt the Cameron.

I just saw it a second time in 3D IMAX - it was truly incredible, I know Avatar is an absolute box office juggernaut but it almost feels underrated, I love the MCU but Avatar 2 shyts on anything recent for them

can’t wait for 3, I read it’s going to explore some combating Navi tribes that aren’t as welcoming and peaceful
