Ok, so like 30 minutes into this movie I was mad we went to see it/I got punked into it, it wasn’t feeling like a payoff for a 13 year wait….but then they went underwater :banderas:

Visuals are a 10/10

But the movie/plot/dialogue and some acting (spider) is weak AF, and that corny opening they left at the end…I really hope all 5/7/9 whatever movies ain’t about to be this bozo vs sully

Edit: and what’s with these new 3D glasses, I got a big head and them shyts was falling off my face the whole time, can’t imagine these on a small head breh/brehette lol

Edit 2: also agree this movie was too long. Some of the forest shyt and sea expedition could’ve been cut. The endless near death moments in the third act were cheap AF too

Why do the kids all have different accents
Went to look up the cast expecting to see at least one African breh playing one of the kids and nope smh. Accents were all over the place and Tuk, the youngest one, sounded like your average American kids from a Pixar movie

My guess mid to late January
Yea everybody is talking about going to see this shyt.
The only complaint I've heard from people who have seen it is the length (pause) of the movie
I saw it twice. The middle part definitely dragged a bit there.

Also noticed the older son had very little screen time upon second viewing.

I know the plot is irrelevant but I have to ask. So they were hell bent on fighting the humans and kicking them off the planet until Jake decided he had enough. Then they were just cool with the humans being there? Also why did the older son not have an extra finger?

Ok that being said damn the visuals were insane. I can’t believe that wasn’t real water. Even something as minor as the design of those crab subs was amazing. I couldn’t believe how clear everything looked. At a couple points it was like we were sitting in front of an aquarium. I might have to go see this again just to look around.

I saw it in Dolby 3D. I can’t fukk with being shoulder to shoulder in them imax seats for 3 hours. I need a recliner.

:troll:

Notice how shallow the water is practically all of the time. No matter where they are.

:ohhh:

Damn James with the Ether Again. He never misses on Part 2. People love to talk about "Cultural Impact" or "Relevance". The reality is this is a franchise that people do enjoy "Avatar" sequel just ran laps around everyone at the box office and it's actually behind the first one but these numbers are very good in this market. This franchise is so huge globally already. 4 Billion off two movies is crazy.

Ok that makes more sense. It’s still insane that they had humans and CGI creatures in it without it looking off.

:whoo:

And many people don’t go to the movies anymore after Covid plus the rise of streaming. I know people who haven’t been since enforce the pandemic.
